Quick take on the season

The Good-

Elton Brand - The only consistent force on the team and having a monster of a year. 4th in Rbs at 11.8, 1st in blocks at 3.33,1st in O Rbs 4.6, 2nd in Double Doubles with 15

Keyon Dooling averaging 7.4 pts, in limited mins, but most importantly is providing a spark of the bench and a steady influence when Dre day is out. Something we didnt have at the start of the season

Andre Miller - Even through the slump he had he is averaging 8.4 assists, and is getting to the line, he ranks 10th in Free throw attempts. Shot looks great after working on it during the summer, and is showing the court awarness I thought he would bring, can shot the mid range J and knows when to dish off just ask the Nets

The Bad

Our Offense - We look complacent on offense. We settle into dumping it into the post to often which is not a huge problem if the players would cut, and hit the J's regularly. It has been commented on plently of times but the Post is to overrcrowed at times. We look better when we have one man down the operating, and Brand hitting his J. We should have more penetration and kick outs. To often I see our players holding the ball trying to make the spectacular play

Ever Other Player - The other players have not been impressive
but I think players like O and Jaric are finally starting to come around

The Ugly

Our Defense - To many times we look lost on Defensive. The opposing man gets easy shotsdue to poor Defensive rotation, and sometimes a lack off effort :cough:Kandi:cough:

Olowokand - hmmmmm where should I begin. He holds the ball to long and seems like he doesnt seem like he wants to pass at all. Still gets called for to many simple violations if he gets called for another traveling violation I will go crazy. Has a horrible attitude, needs to just play ball like he is getting paid too. I could go on all day

I agree with you 98%. LOL. I just had to add that C-Maggs was playing well and with passion, its too bad he's injured, his jumper was looking good.
Your 100% correct in regards to Kandi. He is the cause for all of our problems (as bad as that sounds IMHO its true). On offense he doesn't kick out, takes bad shots, clogs up the paint for his own teammates, and doesn't get offensive boards. On defense he is slow and lazy, and not intimidating enough. He doesn't run the court and whines. He doesn't show on pick and rolls and gets the j nailed in his face.
Its so frustrating the game goes down the drain the minute it starts because they give Kandi the ball on their first two or three possessions, which should set the tone and he always misses his jump hook or turns it over and after a minute and a half were down 6 of 8 and are playing catchup for the rest of the game.

Im The One

Yea Kandi is like a blackhole because once the ball goes in it aint coming back. I serioulsy think a huge problem for him is he thinks he is better than he is. He had the nerve to say he needs more touches, he's already slowing down the offense.Your right on about the picks, im glad someone noticed that. He also doesnt get good position for his rebounds, he could be a lot better of a rebounder than he is. Were one of the worst rebounding teams. That will improve though because Q is a good rebounder and Lamar is a triple double waiting to happen


Yea your right about Maggs. I forgot about him, his jumper was looking good

I wouldnt go as far as to say Micheal is the cause of all of our problems albeit he is a major contributor but not the source of it all. We still have some big flaws in our offensive set up and things of that nature.

I honestly think if you took Kandi out we would average @100 a night. Kandi just stands at the block and so no one can penetrate and dish or finish. A few games ago when Zhi Zhi was camped at the arc, we got to see Keyon drive on 4 consecutive plays finishing twice and laying it off to Brand for a dunk twice, and it absolutely lit up the crowd. With Elton and Kandi there are two post up players only, which is one two many. Q and miller and Odom can post anyways. Just Kandi on the court alone stiffles the offense. Oh yeah and when he's down under the basket and someone like Jaric drives and lays it off to him (a la Kobe to Shaq), Kandi isn't suspecting it and it bounces off his goofy self and is taken by the other team. After a play like that everyone's head goes down and then nobody has the confidence to drive and lay it off to him.
......So he just stands on the left block and waits for miller, jaric or dooling to dump it into him and then spin baseline only to leave it short off the front rim where it bounces over the hoop to the back rim and out, no chance for even Super Elton to get a board.

I agree that Kandi is a glaring weakness on the Clippers. Isn't it weird that he's a weakness when most sports writers say he is the 2nd best pure center in the league? Are they watching Clippers games? He seems to think he can hit the jump hook but never does. We were actually laughing at him every time he'd take that shot. "He's trying it again! And he misses."

I think that Richardson needs some more minutes. That guy is capable of so many things. Can Pike play SF?

Lizzy you finally posted on the clips board... sweet . Yeah I don't think many peeps actually watch the entire games.

Q does need more minutes he's been injured as you know. Thing is Jaric and Dooling have been playing SG too. Pike can't play SF cause he would be a defensive liability and when Lamar and C-maggs come back theres no room at the inn. Sorry Pike

Lizzy what did you thing about my lineup in the other thread, which consisted of .....Lamar, Elton, Zhi Zhi, Q, Corey, Wicox, Ely, dooling, Jaric, Rooks. This would allow an opening at the SG position behind Q and allow Jaric or Lamar or Corey more playing time as anyone of these players plays SG too.

kandi has poor court vision. He can't make other players better. He makes others worse because he wants more shots.

You mean if Kandi were traded or something? I think 10-man rotations are still kind of a lot. If all players are healthy (and Kandi were gone) I'd start Q, Odom, Wang, Brand and Miller.

Jaric, Dooling, Corey, Wilcox and Ely would be the main back-ups. But if this team truly wanted to win I and I were the owner/gm - I would trade Kandi and Dooling or Jaric for a veteran center. Too many guards on this team. I don't know. The Clips have too much....something. And Kandi is not helping them no matter what espn.suck says.

Your right there are alot of gaurds. As much as I like Miller and I really do, he might be tooooo expensive. I think with Dooling Jaric and Odom along with Brand assists will still be there.

You're right 10 man rotations are still too much. My rotation would be Dooling, Jaric, Q, Odom, Brand, Zhi Zhi, Maggette, and Ely. Wilcox and Rooks as backups. Thats 8 good players in the main rotation.

I was thinking about the possibility of Keon Clark, he would be perfect, a big man who runs and blocks shots and is athletic. If Kandi and Miller go is there room enough salary wise for him?

Probably. I think Keon would be good with the Clippers but keep him and Lamar away from each other.

What about Pike? He's such a great shooter. It would be a shame to lose him. However, y'all have tons of 3 pt shooters. He's sort of a luxury. The Clippers are a hard team to even talk about trades with b/c they don't need anything other than a few years experience.
