Rick Brunson
What do you guys think about Rick Brunson?
I can't stand the guy. It wouldn't be so bad if he only played a few minutes as a backup, but he actually seems to be eating into Jaric's minutes. The other night in the loss against the Celtics he was playing all of the cruch time minutes.
He just tends to take the ball at the top of the key and wait. Then dribble into the middle and either turn it over or pass it to a half open player with no real scoring oportunity.
I was at the game against the Celts and everyone who I was sitting around seemed to have the same opinion. We were wondering if Jaric was hurt, but he did come back in for a couple of possesions later. I can't wait till Livingston gets back so I don't have to watch Brunson ball in the clutch anymore.

Brunson is terrible, plain and simple.
He keeps getting NBA jobs because the NBA loves to recycle players, coaches, etc. and he's considered a "professional".
Yawn, give me some talent, just give me anyone but Brunson.
Speaking of old Temple guards, I don't know why Pepe Sanchez isn't in the league, he can definitely run an offense and hit an open J.

Brunson has tailed off of late with his play, but you cant ask for a better third string PG. He has hit good shots..his assist to TO ratio was incredible over the first few games. Think of who we have had as the third string PG over the passed few years. Overton, etc.

actually, even with his poor play of late, hes still putting up decent numbers in limited playing time. 4 points, 3 assists, and an assist to ratio of 3 to 1. Not earth shattering numbers, but, decent for someone without a guaranteed contract.

I think the problem with people is that he is seeing too many minutes on the court. I don't mind him as third option. But the Clippers play him because of the lack of a true PG at the moment.

Hes third usually if livingston or kittles were healthy. But he does get a loto f minutes with them injured. But still i think hes only averaging like 14-20 minutes..i could be mistaken. I do reemmber though that per 48 minutes hes averaging 13 points with 11 assists and like only a little over 3 TO's.

Yeah, he isn't doing bad with the minutes he is getting. But people don't want to see a 3rd stringer in the game when it's crunch time. It's not very comforting for them, I guess.

Perhaps its because of those string of games jaric had where he tanked it at the end of games, trying ridiculous soft floaters that he msised, or turning it over at the end of the game....things that brunson hasnt done yet.
I wish someone at a press conference would ask dunleavvy about it, then wed know for sure.

Brunson played 45 minutes tonight and even did better than his season average for play per 48 minutes. Single handedly won the game for them in the OT.
18 points, 10 assists, 6 boards, only 3 TO's.
Chalmers on the other hand almost single handedly LOST the game for the clippers down the stretch.
Actually, by shooting 3 of 12, chalmers actually IMPROVED his FG% for the year. LOL
