Predictions, Jan-Feb Schedule

Hoopworld posted their predictions for the clippers games since jan. 19. Ill post mine after this. Post yours if youre interested

http://www.hoopsworld.com/article_11201.shtml

January 19th at San Antonio: Prediction - Loss

Sorry, there¡¯s just no way. Unless they kidnap Tim Duncan before the game, the Clippers probably won¡¯t have much of a chance. Frankly, even if they did kidnap Tim Duncan, they probably wouldn¡¯t have much of a chance.

January 20th at Dallas: Prediction - Loss

The same back to back that killed the Los Angeles Lakers with Kobe Bryant. Does anyone really think the Clippers are going to fair any better?

January 22nd at New Orleans: Prediction – Win

This game will be the Clippers¡¯ chance to salvage this road trip. The Hornets are terrible this year, but keep in mind, Baron Davis has been playing again. If he plays this game, this win will certainly be difficult, especially on the road. That¡¯s what kind of effect a difference maker like Baron Davis has on a team. Are you listening, Elgin Baylor?

January 24th hosting Dallas: Prediction – Loss

Sorry folks, the Clippers just showed this weekend that they¡¯re unable to beat the elite teams on the road or at home when they lost to the Sacramento Kings twice. Dallas is better than the Kings, so the result will most likely be the same.

January 26th hosting Los Angeles Lakers: Prediction – Win

The Lakers will be without Kobe Bryant, and quite frankly, they¡¯re a middle of the road team with him playing. Without him playing, the Clippers should win this game and exact some revenge for their two early season losses.

January 28th at Portland: Prediction – Win

Portland, although still a tough team, is leaking water fast, dropping seven of their last eight. The Clippers should win this one, even on the road.

January 29th hosting Golden State: Prediction – Win

The Clippers have owned Golden State this year, and to be honest, Golden State isn¡¯t all that good. The Clippers should win this one to put together a nice three game win streak.

January 31st hosting New York: Prediction – Win

New York is an up and down team this year, and they play the Clippers relatively early on in their extended road trip, but I still think the Clippers can pull out this victory to end January with a 23 and 22 record, eking back above .500. Law of averages could hold true, and the Clippers could very easily lose this game, however.

February 3rd at Memphis: Prediction – Loss

Memphis has turned into a tough team under the Czar, Mike Fratello. They aren¡¯t an easy game for anyone, especially when they¡¯re at home. It¡¯s the beginning of the long road trip for the Clippers, and it won¡¯t start well.

February 4th at Milwaukee: Prediction – Loss

The Bucks have a deceiving record, because a lot of their losses have been close games. Plus, it¡¯s the second night of a back-to-back after a fairly long plane ride. The Clippers are the better team, but back-to-backs on the road are difficult for any team.

Febuary 6th at Philadelphia: Prediction – Loss

Unfortunately, I think this is where the road trip starts to wear on the Clippers as they play their third game in four days. They beat the Sixers convincingly at home, but Allen Iverson still leads a good (if erratic) team. I can easily see the Clippers dropping this game.

February 9th at Boston: Prediction – Win

The Clippers finally get some rest and come out fresh, beating a mediocre Boston team. This game very well could be the lone victory on the road trip (but I think they¡¯ll win one other).

Febuary 11th at Washington: Prediction – Loss

Oddly enough, the Wizards have a pretty good team this year with their trio of scorers: Gilbert Arenas, Larry Hughes, and Antawn Jamison. Hughes will have been out for an extended period, but he should be back around this time, spelling trouble for the Clippers.

February 13th at Toronto: Prediction – Win

This is a very optimistic prediction, unfortunately. Toronto has been playing very well since they sent Vince Carter packing. Still, the Clippers have a better team, on the whole. If the Clippers want to be anywhere near the playoff hunt, though, this is a game they have to win. If they lose, it will probably spell doom, because I don¡¯t think they win any of the remaining games on the road trip.

February 15th at Orlando: Prediction – Loss

Orlando is good this year. Steve Francis doesn¡¯t realize it, but the addition of Doug Christie will prove to be a good one, and by this point, the team should be gelling pretty well. This late in the road trip, against a major contender, the Clippers don¡¯t have a chance.

February 16th at Miami: Prediction – Loss

This game will be ugly. It¡¯s the second night of a back-to-back, on the road, Shaquille O¡¯Neal will be looking for revenge after the Clippers beat the Heat at Staples, and the Heat will probably have Dwayne Wade this time. Let¡¯s just hope nobody gets hurt.

February 23rd at Phoenix: Prediction – Loss

Unless the Suns¡¯ fortunes change dramatically, this will be another blowout. The Clippers will be dog tired, and the Suns are a better team. Hopefully, the Clippers at least enjoy a nice conversation with Quentin Richardson at half court before the game.

February 24th hosting Minnesota: Prediction – Loss

The schedule maker continues to be unkind. Even if they¡¯re finally at home, it¡¯s the second night of a back-to-back. Add to that, they¡¯re playing a tough Wolves team, who are only playing their first game on a road trip after a long rest. The Clippers probably make this game close, but they won¡¯t win, unless Minnesota has completely fallen apart at this point, and Kevin Garnett is left an angry, bitter shell of the player he was last year (which is possible).

February 27th hosting Atlanta: – Prediction - Win

It¡¯s time to take out the frustrations of a long, fruitless road trip on a horrible Hawks team. Lionel Chalmers even reaches double digits in this one.

February 28th at Utah: Prediction – Loss

Utah will have Andrei Kirilenko back by now, and will be a tough, tough opponent. After expending so much energy dismantling the Hawks, Clippers come out flat and get blown out.

January 22nd at New Orleans: Prediction – Win

Dont see the clippers loosing this one with or without davis. Even if the clippers have a poor outside shooting game, clippers are too strong down low for the hornets.

January 24th hosting Dallas: Prediction – Win

Im going to go out on a limb, and predict win for this game. Probably not since we dont have kittles, but the Clippers are due to play 4 good quarters of bball against an elite team.

January 26th hosting Los Angeles Lakers: Prediction – Win

Key is to stop the outside shot by atkins and cook, etc. Without bryant, lakers are very beatable by a team like the clippers. Key is again will be the points in the paint. Mihm has good numbers, but they are going down as he is coming down to earth. I see kaman dominating him this game.

January 28th at Portland: Prediction – Win

Clippers have their number.

January 29th hosting Golden State: Prediction – Win

Again, brand kaman the key in this game. By this game hopefully wilcox and jaric are back.

January 31st hosting New York: Prediction – Win

With people getting healthy from injuries, i see the clippers winning more of these kind of games.

February 3rd at Memphis: Prediction – Win

Again, this is kind of a stretch, but if the clippers are on a winning streak, i think they keep it going at one of th emiddle of the road teams.

February 4th at Milwaukee: Prediction – Win

Same as above.

Febuary 6th at Philadelphia: Prediction – Loss

Dont think the clippers have an answer for the answer in this game.

February 9th at Boston: Prediction – Win

If they can hold down a ridiculous output by davis and pierce, they shoudl be fine

Febuary 11th at Washington: Prediction – Loss

No one who can match up with arenas, also hughes might be back

February 13th at Toronto: Prediction – Win

Toronto's front court doesnt have the bulk to bang with the clippers

February 15th at Orlando: Prediction – Loss

too much firepower for the clippers

February 16th at Miami: Prediction – Loss

Revenge game for the heat.

February 23rd at Phoenix: Prediction – Win

Teams are starting to figure out the suns, with/without nash. I think the clippers have a shot at this one after 2 losses.

February 24th hosting Minnesota: Prediction – Win

The emergence of Kaman changes the way the clippers can play the twolves.

February 27th hosting Atlanta: – Prediction - Win

comeon...its the hawks.

February 28th at Utah: Prediction – Loss

Jan 22- @ NO - Win

The Hornets are still one of the worst teams in the league even with their nice set of wins that they put up lately. With Baron Davis not playing, it should be a win for the Clippers.

Jan 24-Dallas - Loss

The Clippers have the opportunity to the Mavs. They just have to prove that in the 3rd and 4th quarter. It will be a close game but I see a loss.

an 26- Lakers- Win

No Kobe? No Problem, that is for the Clippers. The Clippers in the past have had a hard time dealing with Kobe but with him not in the picture they should be able to pull away from the Lakers.

Jan 28-@ Portland- Win

Portland is going through a big crisis and are not playing very good basketball. All the Clippers will need to pound the ball in the paint and avoid meeting a swab by Theo and they will win this game.

Jan 29- Golden State- Win

The Clippers have already beat the Warriors 3 times this season. They will get the sweep.

Jan 31 -New York- Win

The Clippers suffered a loss to the Knicks earlier in the season but lately the Knicks have been terrible and with Wilkens leaving who knows what is going to happen to this team.

Feb 3 -@ Memphis- Loss

The Clippers haven't had any luck playing against the Grizzlies. The Clippers are playing an away game and the Grizzlies have been playing great lately and moving up the standings. I foresee a loss, in the Clippers first of 9 straight away games.

Feb 4 -@ Milwaukee- Win

The Bucks should a glimmer earlier in the month of their potential but I don't see it amounting to anything. Clippers win. Redd sees his future team beat his current one.

Feb 6 -@ Philadelphia- Win

The Sixers may be the best team in their group but lets face it they aren't very good. Allen Iverson can go off on how many ever points he wants but his supporting cast will fail him.

Feb 9 -@ Boston-Win

It's revenge time for the Clippers. After suffering that collapse to the Celtics their previous game the Clippers will make that doesn't happen again.

Feb 11-@ Washington: Loss

Lets see I have predicted too many away win for the Clippers and the Wizards are a good team with year. I say it's a loss because the Clippers won't win all their away games, history has showed us this.

Feb 13 -@ Toronto-Win

The Clippers took down Toronto last time with Vince, they can do it again when there is no Vince.

Feb 15 -@ Orlando-Loss

This is one of the games that will come down to the wire but the Clippers will blow because it's an away game and the Clipper aren't going to win most of their game in February.

Feb 16 -@ Miami- Loss

Miami is just that good right now. True the Clippers beat them last time but was with Wade not playing agaisn't them.

Feb 23- @ Phoenix-Loss

The Suns showed last time what they can do to the Clippers and I don't see any reason why they can't do it again.

Feb 24 -Minnesota-Win???

Who are the Timberwolves? I think thats a question that Minnesota is asking themselves, they lose to bad teams and then they go off and beat some good teams like the Sonics.

Feb 27 -Atlanta-Win

It's Atlanta and it is finally a Home game for the Clippers.

Feb 28- @ Utah-Loss

Who know how could Utah will be again with AK47 is back with the team.

-------------------------

Looks like I just said the Clippers will be 11-7 in this time period. Now, I am only predicting game where I think the Clippers SHOULD win not that they will necessarily win. The teams the Clippers will face will be a lot easier than past 10 games. February will be tough since EVERY game except for 2 will be AWAY games and the Clippers don't do away games. Could the Clippers do well in these games? Yes, because when everyone comes back from injury, the Clippers can do well.

Well, thanks to the clippers choke jobs vs. the two worst teams in the league, so far im only

4 and 2 in my predictions

Weasel is 3 and 3

CDF is 5 and 1 (he didnt predict the other game, but he would have predicted a win in that hornets game. :-P)

The next 6 games are ALL winnable, so I want to see the clippers win at least 4 of them. Clippers dont play again until Thursday, giving jaric more time to get to 100%, giving wilcox more time to get to 100%, and giving magette and kittles time to heal (both out at least a week), without missing a game.

Hopefully toward the end of this road trip, kittles, magette, and livingston will be back. How is that for improving the available talent in the back court? Adding the 3 people that were expected to be starting for the clippers this year. Holy crap the clippers are deep.

February is a tough month for the Clippers. They only play 2 home games and those 2 games are at end of the month. Clippers really need to buckle down and handle all these away games well so that they stay in the playoff hunt.

Nice way to start the road trip over a ressurrected Grizz team. Coming back from 18 down. We got a real easy one tomorro. My predictions were off so far and that's a good thing.

February 4th at Milwaukee: Win, or at least they better win. Because there trip is going to lighten up some compared to that horrible road trip they had a few weeks ago playing the NBA's best teams back to back. The easy ones are the ones the HAVE to win if they want to make the play offs. So Im going to pridict that since Jaric is healthy, and any time livingston is gonna come back. And hopefully Corey to (sorry guys, be rather you like him much or not he is 21 points the clippers could use extra each game). And a not on that, for those that think they are doing just fine without him I think its because jaric returned just before Corey went out. I think a healthy corey will only benifit the team, and not hurt it.

Febuary 6th at Philadelphia: Win, the clippers have shown they can rise to the ocasion. Im only picking them because I think they have the fast paced basketball that can keep up with the 76's, although its gonna be close. Gotta shut down Iverson if they want a chance to win this.

February 9th at Boston: Win, I dont think this will be much of a challange. Though they will have to not play down to the weaker teams.

Febuary 11th at Washington: Win, Im sorry but washinton is not doing it for me. I know they have good players especally skillful and talented players, but so do the clippers. I think the clippers will rise to this ocasion.

February 13th at Toronto: Win.

February 15th at Orlando: Win. Orlando plays bad agisnt western teams.

February 16th at Miami:Loss, Shaq and Wades revenge will come. Probably no last second shot is gonna save this one. Sorry Corey.

February 23rd at Phoenix: Loss. The clippers do well agisnt teams that out gun them with firepower. Seattle, dallas, even only losing by one in the last game with spurs. But for some reason the clippers dont seem to even come close to beating the suns this seaosn. They have been blow outs every time. So I gotta go with a loss.

February 24th hosting Minnesota: Win, the clippers will be battling for the last play off spots with this team I think. They will be pumped and know its do or die.

February 27th hosting Atlanta: Win. If they dont Im gonna vomit.

February 28th at Utah: Win, Im going to say win because even though AK has returned they seem to be somewhat off pare still. Winning off and on, and nothing consistant. I think next season the team will be soemthing to worry about this year I think the clippers should take em.

Only two losses, wow am I opptomistic or what?

Everyone has predicted a victory for tonight. But then again, we all did for new orleans as well. HOpefully the clippers come through for us.

I think this clippers is a new era born when Jaric returned. Theres just something about his level of play, he gets everyone else going. Even if he isnt doing much, he just some how gets people pumped it. I think when they played NO they looked a little burned out and tired, no driving force. I think a jaric will come in handy. And bobby looks to be out of his slump.

Sucks it isnt on tv though, im bummed out.
