minimum - 2 million dollar free agents next year...

Last off season, the clippers picked up Q Ross, Rebraca, Brunson, Mikki Moore, N'Diyaye as FA's last year, all of whom with the above price tag except Rebraca. They actually did very well considering the money they spent. its unlikely they can get the same output with the same money this year, but lets say theyre not able to sign the above players, who would you like them to go after similar to them next year?

Personally id like to see them pry away Walton from the Lakers. Heck, if no one goes after skita, might as well offer him a small contract. What about Kapono? Eddie house? Problem is, before this year, most of us had never heard of rick brunson, let alone think that he can start 40 games for us, most of us thought rebraca didnt even play anymore because of his many injuries, most of us didnt think moore would have a career year with us, nor that ross would be able to play the valuable minutes he did. So this kind of player is hard to predict. More like a gamble. I do think walton could help the team though, not only as a backup, but as a fan favorite as well. he has said that he wants to stay with the lakers, but if they bring back their 1000 SF/SG, and the clippers offer him a decent size raise, he might consider being the first (?) father son combo to play for the clippers.

I liked the players that Dunleavy picked up this season. I would like to see some of them comeback. If they don't though I trust Dunleavy in picking up new people that will help the Clippers. It seems he has a knack for knowing what players can help produce for the Clippers.

The question is.. How much are you willing to spend for walton? His price tag is going to be pretty decent dispite his lack of playing time. Many people think he should have been used much more than he was this season by the lakers, and I have a feeling after this season he is going to go to the highest bidder. So how much is he worth to you?

Re: minimum - 2 million dollar free agents next year...

from a complete perspective, id say 2 million. From only a players perspective hes not worth that. But wherever he goes, he is a fan favorite, he would sell jerseys, hes a good community guy, the intangible of his father being a clipper player and broadcaster, etc. etc. ALl of that considered i would give him 2 million.

Agreed that Walton is a draw and a fan favorite. Plus he's a SoCal boy and would probably love to stay in L.A. He's young, rich, single and lives in Manhattan Beach--does life get any better than that? Question is: at what position would the Clips use him? He's been playing 2 recently, but he struggles on the defensive end. At 6'7", he's a classic tweener. However, the kid has court sense beyond his years and would be a good addition to any team that lands him. Class act.

Re: minimum - 2 million dollar free agents next year...

Id like to play him alongside livingston at times. Livingston will start to draw more double teams soon. It would be great for him to give up the ball to walton, who could in turn with his passing skills, almost instantly find the open person with an assist.

If the lakers get him, then the clippers should go after his brother Chris who graduates from SDSU this year. Chris did nothing in college, but posseses the court savvyness of his brother, and is a little bit taller. Signing him to a minimum 200,000 dollar contract and having 2 waltons in LA, is worth the publicity, and wouldnt even be as much of a waste as chalmers was.

Re: minimum - 2 million dollar free agents next year...

I think he is worth 2 million. I'd give him that. But if he goes for more than that, I'd say save the money. He is more than likely going to pick up 3-4 million. I dont think he is worth that amount... But 2 million would be a steal. He has lots of untapped talnet.

What has he done to go from making $620,000 to to $3-4 million?

Nothing.

Nothing.

He has a pretty nice hype pipeline following him. Chicago has already started talking to him about the upcomming offseason. He has shown lots of up comming talent. You'd be surprised what teams offer players nowadays. Especally teams like Utah that love throwing cash at hyped white guys.

Walton is not that bad but they better try and get someone better than him. If nothing else works then maybe.

Walton???
I have never seen him as a great talent or anything. Not sure if he will do well on the Clippers. I like the guys we have now, I wouldn't mind seeing them back next year.

I dont think Walton would be a good fit because he will struggle on defense. I think the Clippers should get a shooter if they have to have someone who isnt a good defender.

walton at 2 mill sounds about right, but the clips should try to get house first, ive always liked house and he normally does good in the limited amounts of minutes he receives, plus his energy mixed with livingstons potential would be great to watch next season

We definitely need a shooter. Walton doesn't fit that bill. Now, if Corey would just train himself to take a small step backward before he lines up that outside shot, we'd have a heckuva lot more 3s.

By the way, what are the odds that Bobby is coming back? I keep hearing conflicting reports.
