Re: Clippers Workout: 5/25
To be honest, I like all of them.
Taylor is a combo guard that can put the ball on the floor and create for himself or others. Thats a skill none of our wings possess, and it slows down our offense. when Marko and Shaun play together, our offense reaches another level and has a great level of efficiency. Taylor would open up the floor more and give us more ball movement and another player to penetrate and create.
Lee is athletic and will battle. People still doubt his athleticism despite him beating James White in the dunk competition years ago. He moves well and can get up and finish. But, he's a tad short and not real bulky. I think his attitude to battle and athleticism make up for that in a backup 4 man.
Simien and Banks have been two of the best college basketball players over the past couple years.
Banks is a lotteyr talent. Big time scorer. He can do anything he wants offensively. His problem is his head and his attitude. He got kicked off the team and hasn't been willing to put in the work. He has the ability to be a MAJOR steal. Nick Van Exel fell for similar reasons when he was drafted and he's had a good career. Hopefully the team does its homework and sees a grown up man because Banks could be a very good NBA player.
IMO, there are only two flaws in Simien's game - heighjt and durability. He may only be 6'7, which is very undersized for a low post PF. And he's been hurt every year at Kansas. How is he going to take the beating in the NBA? He's another guy that culd be a steal late. He can score on the block, and has a little mid range J thats pretty solid. He wont back down on offense or defense and crashes the boards. As mentioned above though, he looks like the only guy to go in the first round, which puts him below our first rounder, but above our second rounder, so hes probably out of our range.
