Any chance to get Granger?
There has been talk about trading wilcox for wright. What about getting granger instead? Id say his more insurance than a wright for if we lose simmons. The pacers at SG/SF have bender, artest, jackson, jones, and some big PG's. But they lack a decent big player to take away some defense from oneal. Woudl they be itnerseted in a wilcox for granger swap? Heck with wilcox recent woes, id be willing to do wilcox and a draft pick for granger.
If korolev stays overseas, were basically where we started at the end of the year, with only Qross and maggette signed at SG/SF.

Re: Any chance to get Granger?
Interesting idea. I read that he could play their backup power forward since they are so deep at small forward. It's possible.

Re: Any chance to get Granger?
Very nice if it could happen but I think the Pacers won't do it knowing they have 1 of the biggest steals in the draft.

Re: Any chance to get Granger?
But steal or not, with their current team makeup, he doesnt fit unless they want to put him as an extremely undersized backup PF, and even then, thats a waste of his talents.
Remember, indiana was even considering trading that pick in order to save some money off of the cap. If the clippers overpay for him like offering wilcox and a future 1, or if the clippers offer to take salary off of them, i think they would consider it. Look at the SG/SF that the pacers have already, not to mention fred jones, etc.

Re: Any chance to get Granger?
Granger gives them insurance in case they decide to trade Artest bud...
He's not going anywhere...
Yes they were considering trading the pick at one time, but they're not gona hand over a guy who fell into their lap after being pegged at going as high as 6 for a guy who just got arrested.
Reality check 1 2 1 2, please.

Re: Any chance to get Granger?
I dont think they can get granger there to smart. Maybe the Nets are stupid and the can pull off a Wilcox for Wright maybe throw in Ewing.

Re: Any chance to get Granger?
yes, but they also have said that artest isnt going anywhere. So, id say them trading artest is about as likely as them trading granger. And what would make it more likely like i said is NOT just for wilcox, but with the clippers overpaying by giving wilcox plus a pick, or other considerations while at the same time taking an unwanted salary off of the pacers. That is win win situation for the pacers.
Now, they could decide that granger could be better than artest, which i find hard to believe, and thus will make him one of the only untouchables on the team, but if the clippers overpay and help them out salary wise, youve got to admit that the pacers would be thinking long and hard about it before saying no.
On the other hand the clippers could take a run at artest as well. Grangers pickup makes his value even less than its low point right now. But id much rather have granger than artest.

Re: Any chance to get Granger?
Yeah, i want to get rid of wilcox while we can get something for him. I dont think he will do anything here as long as dunleavvy is our coach, so might as well ship him out.
While its unlikely that granger is on the market, theres no way the pacers reject something that would help their team more. Kind of like theres no way brand is on the block, but they sure did offer him as part of a deal for shaq, or although livingston is not on the block, if the cavs offered lebron james for him, they would take him. The same token, someone like andrew bynum of the lakers is expected a lot from. But if someone were to offer the lakers a deal that would take grants contract, im sure the lakers would be willing to move him. Granger is not a superstar, if the clippers put together an overwhelming advantageous deal to pacers, which includes taking an unwanted contract, im sure the pacers would strongly consider it.
We can understand the new jersey interest because they have wanted wilcox since they let kenyon go, plus wright will never get any time on a team with possibly the best 2/3 combo in the league. So to get wright, id say they wouldnt have to give up too much. But to make a granger deal worthwhile they would have to be willing to do a lot more.

Re: Any chance to get Granger?
It looks like everyone would like to see Wilcox gone and I don't blame you guys. He is good but won't fit into Dunleavy's system, I think the only thing that is holding him from being traded is Baylor's love for him.

Re: Any chance to get Granger?
Granger is not being dealt. Not at all. The Pacers are extremely happy.
