Informative Dunleavvy interview on 570 just now
Crap, i missed most of it, only caught the last 3 minutes, but what I heard was very informative. Anyone else hear it? if so please add to what im writing now.
1. Korolev will NOT be in the Summer League. He has to play with the national team in russia, the one his dad is a coach of.
2. After that, he will be brought over here to practice with the clippers. If he can prove that he is not a deffensive liability on the court, and that he can contribute minutes this year, he will be brought over. If not, he will be sent back to russia to mature his game more.
3. Clippers will start to call the big name free agents starting 9PM tomorrow night.
4. Korolev is projected strictly at the 3, but has the abillity to play the 2.
5. Makes his team better, understands passing lanes, angles, doesnt take bad shots, is a great playmaker when he has the ball.
6. SOFO will be in the summer league this year. (perhaps this is why we didnt get taft/petro/andrisuvich in the 2nd round? still would have gotten one of them though in case sofo doesnt work out)

Damn, I didn't know there was an interview on the radio. Good thing you caught some of it. I knew of #1 and #2 in your list. I REALLY like #3, hopefully the Clippers get some positive feedback. I also like #6 where Sofo will have a chance to prove if he is worth a roster spot or not.

If Sofo can play, that would make Wilcox more expendable...not that many teams will be high on him after his "incident". It would almost be like having an extra 2nd round pick.
Korolev better show us something this summer. If he goes back to Russia, this draft is a bust.

If Korolev is playing in Russia, then the whole Clipper front office needs to be fired. Why are you playing for the future, when the team is ready to win now? This franchise is a disgrace I swear.
Korolev, meh. But Ewing takes the cake. This team is going nowhere fast.

Yeah...I'm still scratching my hear on Ewing. I mean, did Mike's son advise him on that pick or something? We could have..and should have...done so much better.
Maybe in the summer league we can pick up some young players to fill a few spots..not to mention sign some free agents. Because this has the potential to be a LONG summer unless we do something.
