But before he left, the Clippers' top draft pick underwent a strength test Friday that revealed he is more Thor than Thumbelina, and a shooting exhibition that left assistant coach Jim Eyen thoroughly impressed.
Quote:
"He's tall and lanky, but for his age, he's a lot stronger than I thought he'd be,'' Wang said. "I was really impressed.''
Quote:
"You can tell he's really worked at his game,'' Eyen said. "He shoots the ball very well and is good on the dribble with his left hand and his right hand.''
Re: Korolev displays skill, strength in workout, test
I thought that the usual pattern what to carry those tests BEFORE picking a guy.
By the way, I find rather surprising to see that he's going to play the European Junior Championships (I love it), therefore I must assume that he won't play summer leagues.
Anyway, let's hope everything is good news regarding him. If he succeeds, he will be a pleasure to watch for any basketball fan. You don't find 6-9 guys with that kind of skills everyday.

Yes, it was announced last week he would not be in the summer leagues. Its kind of hard to stiff your dad (the coach of the team in the junior championships) last second to play in a summer league i guess.

Given time I think Korolev could be a very nice player. Dunleavy must really see something great in him and I hope that Korolev is able to prove Dunleavy's vision.
