Re: More Players the Clippers are interested in...
i almost want to just downright overpay hughes. He seems perfect for the clipper system. Didnt he lead the league in steals last year?
I say, overpay hughes, try to resign simmons for what hes worth, and then match a lowball offer to jaric. That right there MIGHT be as good as if we would have gotten pierce or allen. It would certainly be a coup if we could pull it off.
But look at a lot of the championship teams. They were not as deep as the clippers have been. Depth isnt the answer. Its having a STRONG top rotation of 8 players IMO. Look at phoenix, look at detroit, look at san antonio. They didnt go 12 deep. Clippers havent had huge drop off in talent from 1-12 like many teams have. Look at the lakers last couple years before this year. Theyre number 9 -12 guys probably would have trouble making the clippers summer league team. So i say just get a REALLY good rotation of about 8 guys, and fill the rest with minimums, and pray that no one gets injured.

Word. I'd try and get Hughes and re-sign Simmons.

Re: More Players the Clippers are interested in...
The main reason the Clippers are interested in Vladimir Radmonivic is his shooting & Daniels because of the work he done at Seattle last season. Also they took Ray Allen from them & there going to hit him where it hurts real bad.
But I don't think that we can get even one of them.

Agreed, but just watch out - I remember seeing a lot of 8-28 night of shooting coming from Hughes - you bad mouth Mobley for being shoot first, so is Hughes many times..... But he has some great game. It is a hard call. I wouldn't mind Antonio Daniels either....

I wouldn't mind Radmanovic, he is a pretty good shooter and was a good 6th man for the Sonics until he got injured.

Re: More Players the Clippers are interested in...
Daniels would be good on the Clippers but there are better places for him to go. I would like Radmonovic but isnt he a restricted free agent. If so that means they will have to overpay to get him and no thanks to that.

I don't know why people are down on Mobley he puts up good numers. Last year he had: 17.8 ppg, 3.4 assists, 83% FT, 42% from 3, and shot 44%. His attitude may be a problem but he brings a lot to the table.

Re: More Players the Clippers are interested in...
The best thing about the Clippers last year is that they played as a team. Which is indicating by them leading the NBA an assit to field goal ratio. Also there players didnt complain Mobely can have a negative affect on both of those areas and he isnt a good defender either.

Re: More Players the Clippers are interested in...
I think Hughes is the way to go, Mobley second. Daniels is more of a combo guard, and I don't think he is the right fit for what we need. Radmanovic is interesting, if we lose Bobby Simmons.
