Is almost $10mil a year a little high to pay for a guy who only had one good year? What that argument doesn’t take into account is that Simmons only had one year to showcase himself, languishing on the bench in Washington, and only last year getting a chance to play extended minutes. Simmons has also shown himself to be an extremely hard worker, who was a key part of the Clippers’ excellent chemistry last season. It’s true that Simmons was probably more a role player, but he was player Clipper Nation loved, a young, blue collar guy who was an important cog for the team. Bobby’s price may have been on the high side, but the continuity and effort he would have provided will be missed.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Why would anyone assume that Bobby isn't going to keep improving? He has worked so hard on his game every season, he's going to just stop working since he's finally getting a nice paycheck? Look at the dude's FG% for crying out loud. Bah, now I'm ranting. Anyway, I think he's worth the money considering some of the other ridiculous salaries that have been thrown around lately (read: Foyle, Fisher).
