Not Too Fond Of Bonzi Wells But I Guess He Would Be A Good 6th Man. He Shoots Up That Ugly Knuckle Ball. Hopefully He Learned How To Put Rotation On The Ball From Jerry West In Memphis. Sign And Trade Deal With Portland To Get Sar. Bye Bye Wilcox

I believe Bonzi played under Dunleavy and Dunleavy likes him.

I Dont Like Him. He Ruins The Chemistry. I Forgot That He Played Under Dunleavy At Portland. Dunleavy Has Taken Over Gm Duties. No Need For Elgin. He Doesnt Do ****

The Grizzles have had more than cursory conversations with Boston, Dallas, Washington, Sacramento, Detroit and the Los Angeles Clippers regarding Wells, according to league sources.

Mobley reportedly agreed to a contract with the Clippers, who remain interested in Wells to shore up a guard corps that includes an injured and questionable Kerry Kittles.

Bonzi was a beast when he played under Dunleavy.
If Mike thinks he's got that left, Im all for it.

Re: The Clippers still interested in Bonzi
yeah, but it would be complicated salary wise. Memphis has an 8 million dollar option on him or something like that, dont they? If they take the option then trade him, thats terrible value, even more than mobley will be making this year.
I really wish we had next years draft pick or more trade bait other than wilcox. I dont know what memphis salary situation is like, so dont know what would/wouldnt work. But, if we do get wells, that lessens the necessity of jaric, and hasnt west also been trying to get rid of williams? If so, why not wilcox and jaric for wells and williams? Williams isnt a dunleavvy type player, but is the kind of flashy player that puts fans in the stands, and its a better back up PG than chalmers or ewing at this point. If anyone knows the salaries of those guys, and how it could/couldnt work, post it here.

Re: The Clippers still interested in Bonzi
jason williams is a bad idea, he's flashy, but not a superstar, winning puts the asses in the seats way more than a flashy guy.
and i think the word is that wells is gonna be cut via that new rule or team option (i forget which), trading for wells is bad for the clippers, we'll just sign him to a new contract if anything.

Yes, Bonzi has an team option. The SI article in the other thread mentions that the Clippers if they were going to get Bonzi would pay him 5.8 mil. It could be possibly that the Clippers are expecting that the Grizzlies don't pick up on that option.
