As the threat of losing Jaric looms, the former 2002 #2 draft pick has rehabbed and should be back on a team come opening day...
I know it's a total risk, but jay williams had a great year as a rookie and showed a very good basketball IQ. He had a good shooting touch, can be a dual-guard and was a fierce competitor, even without his explosiveness & speed, he can still be a commodity to most teams.
Of course, he's completely uninsurable, but i doubt the bidding for him could even reach the MLE. He was only outplayed by Amare & Yao and if he's able to play even remotely close to the level he was capable of, Williams could end up being a ridiculous steal.
Should the clippers offer him maybe 1-2 million with a team option after year 2? i think so. It's a risk we could afford to take, hell.... he can't be any worse than lionel chalmers.
