Another Clipper is Gone
Reported by Locked on Sports & Hoopshype said that guard Rick Brunson has signed a 1-year deal with the Seattle SuperSonics & expected to be the backup point guard for Luke Ridnour.
Good Luck to you Brunson.

Re: Another Clipper is Gone
I wonder what happen for the Clippers to write off re-signing him. Plus he should have gottne at least a 2 year deal for 1 mil a year.

Re: Another Clipper is Gone
I thought we basically had no intention of signing him anywya, so this isnt a surprise.
Brunson did some nice things for us last year, but nothing he did is irreplacable. If Seattle honestly wants him as their main backup PG, I feel sorry for them. Rick is a great 3rd PG but really shouldnt be asked to do more than that.

Re: Another Clipper is Gone
I'm also wondering why, especially given the fact that he's signing for the minimum that the Clippers would have no interest in bringing him back? I guess they have a lot of faith in Lionel (don't call me principal) Chalmers. Oh well, se la vie. I wish 78 games of success to Rick for next season.

Re: Another Clipper is Gone
Seattle fan---so, can Brunson put u[ productive minutes?? With Ray, Rashard, & Vlade, his scoring won't be as needed as his passing skills will be. Is he a good team player? Is his defense decent?

The thing that has to be remembered is that Brunson started a lot of games and played a lot last year because of major injuries to Livingston and Jaric. His stats will be different being a 3rd option. Brunson is alright, the thing he is weak at is that he is slow. So yeah, he could get burned on defense.
Not sure why Brunson was not kept when he wanted to be back and knew the system. I guess there must of been something internal going on or it could be that Dunleavy wanted to keep quick guards over slow ones.
