The back up SF position. Any thoughts?
5) Dunleavy cryptically mentioned that the Clippers would be signing a small forward by the end of the summer. He was also very specific about the fact that it was small forward (not a 2/3). He did not give any more details than that, but it definitely narrows down the Clippers’ options. Who could this small forward be? Here are some names to think about: Lee Nailon (formerly of New Orleans), Jason Kapono (formerly of the Charlotte Bobcats), Scott Padgett (formerly of the Houston Rockets), Toni Kukoc (formerly of the Milwaukee Bucks), and Gerald Wallace (formerly of the Charlotte Bobcats). Both Jason Kapono and Scott Padgett are excellent outside shooters, which would fill a need for the Clippers. It will be interesting to see who they eventually sign
This is an excert from hoopsworld.com and I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts or insight on who it could be? Travis Hansen was mentioned earlier, but he is more Eric Piatkowski and is better as a situational shooter. I like Nailon as a good 6th/7th man who can score in the second unit. He shoots 47% from the field, but there is question on his D.

Re: The back up SF position. Any thoughts?
I am not sure about Nailon. He is an alright player. The key thing I always remember about him is how Lawler and Smith would point fun of how every time he touched the ball he would shoot it. Wallace is alright too but both him and Nailon were on very poor teams last season and their stats got inflated. I wouldn't be surprised if the Clippers got Kapono since he went to UCLA and would probably like to be back in LA.

Wallace can really play D and is a n athletic freak. he would be a nice pick-up but doesnt seem to go good with Ross off the bench. There wouldnt be much minutes for this player with the team with no injuries. With Mobley and Maggette getting 30 plus minutes and Ross and Jaric as back-ups on the wing. Kapono seems to be the best fit maybe he can be the next Pike

I do not know how accurate this is (I do not live in L.A and am only passing this along), but this was suppose to be from McDonald/Douglas.

Elgin said that the Russian will most likely come over this year. Elgin wants to have the russian work on his strength and conditioning with Maggette, Brand, Kaman in Chicago. Elgin also said that the organization is really trying to resign Marko and that Marko could start over Livinston this year. Baylor also hinted at needing a veteran guard in addition to Marko. Probably to replace Brunson. (i hope we could get gary payton)

I hope this is true as it would be nice to get the kid in.

Kukoc is out of the picture since he will be re-signing with the Bucks.
