More wins in 2005-2006, Clippers or Lakers?
Hello everyone,
This is my first post and I'm going to make it special.
Last year was a rare accomplishment, the Clippers had a better year than the Lakers. I believe this trend should continue for about the next 5 years or until the lakers part ways with Kobe. I give props to the Lakers for there dynasty years and the big Championship rings when the diseal was on board. However, I believe they will continue their downward sprials that will lead to excuses, dismay and a Phil Jackson hospitalization to resignation announcement in 2007-2008 season.
I want to know exactly your pick of total wins the Clippers and the Lakers will have next year.
I believe the following shall be true.
Clippers 46 Wins
Lakers 40 Wins
Look forward to see your thoughts.

If you go by lineup, its no contest, definately the Clippers. However, thats the thing about the NBA, and sports in general. Anything can happen. Clippers could get injured again, they could implode, you never know.
In a completely equal and perfect world where there are no injuries, no outside factors, everyone plays to their potential, etc. etc., id say the clippers are 10 games better than the lakers. In reality, as long as no more than one starter gets injured for an extended period of time (on either team), id say the clippers are 5 games better this year than the lakers.

I just made $50 bet with a friend that the Clippers will have more wins, so I'm hoping that's the case. If I lose, I'll stick to betting with mugs of beers.

I think its very hard to tell as of now. We have no idea what Phil is going to do, or even who will be on the Lakers opening night roster.

Re: More wins in 2005-2006, Clippers or Lakers?
The lakers are so full of question marks, anyone could make a case for them being either much better or much worse next year.
*IF* Phil can teach them all to work together, they can do very well, maybe even 50-wins or it could all blow up and be at like 30-wins.
*IF* Kwame Brown really just needed a change of environment and becomes a force at PF, then they could end up with 50-wins as well.
*IF* Kobe passes once in a while, or *IF* he learns how to play with Odom, will make a huge difference too.
Now i'm not a laker fan, but either way, i see the Clippers getting a pretty solid 45+ wins barring any huge injury situation.
So the lakers could either be neck and neck, with both teams making the playoffs and potentially meeting (which would be awesome for the city & basketball if it's a good series) or... the lakers just crumbling and only those true laker fans sticking with the team.

the lakers need more than the clippers in the way of blending as a team...we still have the major forces in place with kaman, brand, mags,& livingston whereas the lakers basically have kobe and lamar...it's still a guess how coach phil will impact their play, however, you still need the horses to move the wagon and we got the bud clydesdales!...i venture to say clippers plus 7
