Agent for Cassell Says He'll Report
http://www.latimes.com/sports/basket...rts-nba-clippe
Quote:
"Yeah, he's going to go," Tucker said. "We really have no major problems with [the Clippers], we just want to know what the trade is about, because he's no average player. Like I've said, 'You want a player like Sam to be happy.' "
There had been media speculation that Cassell, who turns 36 on Nov. 18, might not report to the Clippers, because of the team's unwillingness to offer him a contract extension.
|
Though his agent will be looking for that extension still....

Although General Manager Elgin Baylor seemingly shut the door on extension talks before the season, Tucker still hoped to explore the issue this week.

"If the situation is good for us, fine," Tucker said.
"But if the situation is not good for us, then I don't want Sam to be there. It needs to be a good marriage for the Clippers and us."

Not sure what this all means. I am going to assume that he is talking about Cassell's role on th team.

"Once he gets out there, we'll be able to talk with the Clippers face-to-face to see if this is the place for him," Cassell's agent, Charles Tucker, said Monday. "We'll know a little bit more tomorrow."

Asked if he and the Clippers have had discussions about an extension, Tucker said, "We haven't really talked about it too much."

Damn it Sam! Leidout said it best, this is only a TEMP JOB. He will be lucky if he starts. I still think Livi should be the starter.

i would like to see sam start with livingston coming off the bench...sam would probably jump start our offense and hopefully get the other starters involved...livingston can come off the bench to provide a spark against the opponents 2nd string guard and hopefully dominate and gain confidence...maybe this will keep sam's interest and mood involved with the clippers success and making the playoffs!

maybe they can run a 3 guard offense with livingston at point and sam and cat on the wings...pretty potent perimeter with penetration...i'd like to see that combo with eb and kaman banging the offensive glass!

Now tell me if the game was on the line. Who would you rather have in the game Shaun or Sam I AM?

Cassell, he has proven that he can finish in crunch time.

Re: Agent for Cassell Says He'll Report
Livingston would be tight coming off the bench they could have a second unit come in a presurre the play and play trapping defesnse with. Shaun,Ross and maybe Moore in there and also Singelton-since he is suppose to be an athlete.
