Matt Pinto, the Clippers' new play-by-play announcer who will work on radio broadcasts when Ralph Lawler and Michael Smith are doing TV, comes from the Dallas Mavericks with a solid reputation. Norm Nixon, who worked alongside Mel Proctor on radio last season, is not expected to return. So the Clippers may have Pinto work alone.
Also for those who care Hacksaw on XTRA Sports will be replaced soon for the 3-7 pm hour, he will be around in other places. It was mostly Laker stuff but they did cover some Clipper news and they did break the Cassell trade and other Cassell news.
Quote:
Clear Channel, which owns XTRA Sports 570, announced this week that Lee "Hacksaw" Hamilton would no longer be the host of the station's afternoon drive-time show. Beginning Sept. 6 in the 4-7 p.m. time slot, it will be Matt "Money" Smith and Joe Grande, who come from FM stations KROQ and Power 106, respectively.
Hacksaw is still going to be on XTRA but in a different role. Im over XTRA. Too much Laker talk. Ever since they moved 570 they have the obligation of reporting Lakers news 24/7. Cant stand Vic The ***** Jacobs. What a frippin homer.
About time Hacksaw got the axe, because all he talks about is hockey like anyone cares, he's boring, reports two week old sportswire stories and makes up nonsense trades. I listen to Dave Smith on 1540
