i was wondering how Rick was @ finishing games; AD was always the finishing PG in close/clutch games for the Sonics, & since he is AD's replacement, I wanted to know what fans who watched him last year thought of him in clutch situations---is he reliable? can he hit clutch free throws, clutch lay ups, etc? thanks
Not sure about his clutchness. I think he had 1 clutch shot this season. His FT% dropped 10% from the previous year. Brunson is slow so don't expect a penetration for a clutch ending. Also his FG% isn't so great at 38%, but he wasn't bad when he was wide open.
Yeah Bruson isnt really much more than a bench warmer.. Although he stepped up greatly with all our PG issues last season.. He really wasn't ment to start and play the 30 plus minutes per game. He is a decent PG though, just nothing spectacular.
He is definatly no AD in any aspect.

I saw him miss every last second shot but one. Considering he took I think 9 last second shots before the end of a close game, he made only one... that's terrible.
he'll be a solid backup with limited minutes but don't expect him to finish ala kobe...last year he was put into situations where he really couldn't produce in crunch time and shouldn't have been out there let alone taking the last shot.

well, @ least Rashard & Ray can make clutch shots.....
is Brunson good @ handling the ball when the other team is pressuring him on the back court, & does he generally not turn the ball over in those kind of situations? I HOPE he won't be in on those types of situations, but who knows.
also, how was his defense? i don't expect him to be the fastest or most athletic option, but can he steal a ball, is there some effort on the defensive end?

Brunson is ok at all the things you ask, except maybe clutch shooting but honestly I didnt really see him take very many final shots, that was normally Coreys territory. For the money you guys paid him, he is worth every cent. He is solid, reliable, and has good passing ability for someoen coming off the bench and getting paid the amount he makes.

ball handling-little above average, passing-average, on ball defense-little below average due to lack of quickness and hops...otherwise a good backup pg
Brunson's game can be described with one word: unremarkable. He has average handles, he does get bothered by full court pressure sometimes, he's kind of slow, he's an average shooter and he makes the obvious plays. But the one thing you can count on is that he generally doesn't make stupid decisions or takes risks with the ball.

Honestly, Brunson is a better fit with the Sonics, simply because he won't be counted on at the end of games to finish plays. Turnover and assist ratio, he's one of the best. But when it comes down the last second, I was absolutely frustrated watching Brunson last season.
