Where to place Korolev?
Since it looks like Korolev will be a Clipper for this season. The question that comes up is, put him in D-league or give him some real nba experience in the beginning?

Re: Where to place Korolev?
At least give him a shot to try the actual NBA, and to work with Coach Dunleavy (will anyone tutor him better?). If that doesn't work out though, and they do send him to the D League, would that affect his confidence too much?
Out of curiosity, is everyone okay with him as a draft pick, or are there still some thoughts about what was still on the table when The Clippers picked? If nothing else, I personally like the humility he showed on that LA Times piece.

I believe most people here are a little disappointed that Korolev was taken when Wright, Green, Granger, and McCants were all available. But I don't think anyone was against him being drafted.

Re: Where to place Korolev?
I think he should be part of the team and not be sent to the league. The D league is probably going to be the equivalent of him playing in Europe. If they went through his contract negotiation, with the Russian team, to bring him down here, why would they bring him just to put him in a developement league? I'd say they brought him to fill a need and that outside shooting. From all the scouting reports that have been done on him, it appears that he is quite good at that. So no more debates. Just give this guy some nba experience.

Re: Where to place Korolev?
Did anyone stop to think...
Korolev is Dunleavy in a Russian Skin...
Point Forward... I think some of you may not know that Dunleavy Sr. used to coach a guy named Magic..
We have Livingston to play when Mags, EB, Mobley, Rebraca are rotated in...
Korolev can rotate in with Cassell, Ross, Wilcox and Kaman.
The Clips will need Korolev to play some minutes... and season himself in the NBA.
This is the season we see what Mike Dunleavy Sr. is made of and if he should get an extension to his contract.
Clips will have great options and can make matchup nightmares. I just think they need one big, muscularlyfatty dude to dial it up a notch in games where the eastern conference shows up with their fat, slow centers... and maybe not so slow but huge, thick guys.
NBDL will see Ewing and Singleton.
Korolev needs to play and bulk up under Clipper supervision.
Hasta luego compadres

Re: Where to place Korolev?
Singleton? doubt that, maybe Ewing/Yuta and our "5th big man"

Re: Where to place Korolev?
Is it me or are Clipper fans a little down on Singleton? I've only seen that one clip of him putting a miss back in, but everything I've read about him makes me think he'll be a good part of the team, and if nothing else the team's track record of finding diamonds in the rough lately (Simmons and Ross) makes me think that they should at least get some leeway from the fans.

Re: Where to place Korolev?
I am going to say it for the third time. Singelton wont be in the D-league, he could have stayed in Europe made more money and played a significant role on a good team over there. he is the fifth big man and if Wilcox doesnt produce I expect him to have a major role on the team.

Re: Where to place Korolev?
I concur with Starbury, no way Singleton will be in the D-league. I think Korolev should get some time in the NBA first but wouldn't be surprised if he gets placed in the d-league for a short stint.

Re: Where to place Korolev?
D-League, of course. The poor guy looks like a twig, and he's been dominating crappy players so far. He's gonna get his *** kicked against even 3rd string SFs right now. Wouldn't wanna give him the Darko treatment.
