Hey, I got my question answered by the cooler guy.
Quote:
Do you think Corey Maggette will have a bigger impact than Amare Stoudamire? This question is here because Amare and Corey are both [injured] parts of their teams that will put them at full strength. I feel that Corey will give the bigger impact because he adds a dimension to the offense, sort of like how Manu Ginobili helped the Spurs beat the Suns in the playoffs last season. Who do you believe will have the greater impact?
That's a tough one, Ronald. Phoenix and LA are very different teams, but both have found ways to overcome the loss of a prime-time performer. As a result, both will be even more dangerous once their stars return. However, I am going to have to agree with you, as I think Corey's impact will loom larger. When the Clippers have struggled this year, their perimeter play on both ends of the floor has been crucial. With Maggette, you get over 20 ppg scoring and an active defender who can help slow down opposing swingmen. As a result, I believe his return will be a square peg in a square hole for this Clippers squad.
It seems he thinks so too, too bad Phoenix won't agree lol.
Re: Around the Cooler: On Corey vs Amare in terms of impact
I think someone else made the key point: the Suns basically haven't been losing. We've been losing our share of games. So by definition it really can't help them much whereas it could help us significantly. There will be some rust, however.
