Clippers scouting Brad Newley
I heard this from someone else. He is an Australian player, 21 years old, and 6-5. Anyone else with more info would be appreciated.

Re: Clippers scouting Brad Newley
Hope that the hype just isnt because hes currently the best player on a continent, and that hes actually got skills.
Might consider him with our second round pick, but only for future insurance if we lose someone, or when contracts expire. I wouldnt want him here next year, unless hes in the d league all year. I say keep him in australia or europe

Re: Clippers scouting Brad Newley
Good player. His numbers were still great after having so much more attention on him after his breakout rookie season. He is a very competitive player and has been working real hard on his game. Saw him a couple of days before he went to the US working out with our local team. He's a load of potential. He needed to go to the states to step up his game because playing NBL is like playing in mediocrity....He is probably worth that late 2nd rounder we got and send him to the D-League. Although, projected on the brink of the 2nd round atm, his stocks are rising because he has been so competitive and playing well in pre-draft work outs.

Re: Clippers scouting Brad Newley
Ive only heard great things about this kid. Not just a shooter. From what I heard the kid is extremely tough and is not afraid to take the ball to the hoop. Whille scrimmaging he was matched up with Denham Browm and did very well. By the way, Brown was the top defensive player for UCONN. There seems to be lots of interest in this kid. Hmmmm

Re: Clippers scouting Brad Newley
What's his athleticism like? He looks like one skinny young dude, so he's obviously no powerhouse.
What I like about foreign players that have played professionally is that alot of them have already seen a (limited) payday, which means they may have more of an interest in the game as opposed to some college guys who are mainly hoping for the jackpot, start off nicely, but then get lazy. Or just are lazy alltogether.

Re: Clippers scouting Brad Newley
If Clips don't take him with the late 2nd, no way in hell can we possibly sign him as an undrafted FA because I'm very sure that the Spurs will take him with their 2nd round pick.

Re: Clippers scouting Brad Newley
He seems like a good prospect, but where would he possibly fit in? Even if Maggette gets traded away, he'll still be buried on the bench like Korolev. This would be our 7th (?) SG/SF...

I say we trade our picks for $1 million and a pair of hookers so we can keep Cassell on our team.
