For the Clippers but I don't think the Celtics would touch it. Plus you would have to throw in some other player(s) to match the contract.

Re: What superstar would fit best on this team?
Dont know if it works under the cap.
Maggette + Pick for Josh Smith + Zaza Pachulia
We will have someone that plays D and a big to back up Kamen.
Or
Maggette + Pick for Pietrus + Murphy from the Warriors

Re: What superstar would fit best on this team?
I wish we had more pieces to trade. Because id like to be able to offer up something for AK47. Supposedly according to salt lake tribune, no one is untouchable on their roster. We know utah likes maggette.
But unfortunately no way does utah do the trade unless its for kaman and maggs, or livvy and maggs, which the clippers probably dont do.
i wish we could catch a team like utah in a fire sale where they willing to take 50 cents for a dollar. Imagine if we were able to pull off a vince carter/baron davis/shaq type deal for AK47, and have it be something ridiculous like maggette and rebraca for him.
Wed have a starting lineup of:
Kaman
Brand
Ak47
Mobley
Livingston
With Ross, singleton, korolev, cassell, possibly radman coming off of the bench. Tell me thats not a championship team.

Re: What superstar would fit best on this team?
Brand isnt a superstar? IMO, he is, especially after how he performed in the playoffs.
P.Pierce, S.Marion, R.Allen, M.Redd, V.Carter, J.Johnson, R.Artest, and J.Richardson (if healthy) would all be good additions. Problem is, you'd have to give up too much to get them. Maggette and a draft pick isnt enough, anything more and you risk messing up the good thing they have going.
Getting another superstar to agree to come to the Clippers shouldnt be a problem. Most NBA guys would love to live in LA and play with a team like this.

Ok, i'll say it, it's not a championship team. Maggette is our best trading piece, but he's also one of our best players, AK47 is a definite improvement, but the combination of Ross+Maggette is pretty much equal to him.
The player that really needs to be replaced is Mobley, his defense has been better than expected, but in basically every other aspect he's been a disappointment. Replace Mobley with a Michael Redd, Ray Allen, Allen Iverson or some similar top tier SG and we've easily got the best starting 5 in the league.

only problem is: who would give up a redd, allen, or iverson for mobley?

Okay, those guys are probably a little too ambitious to go for, but it wouldn't be out of the question to put together a decent package for Ben Gordon. Because i really don't see Mobley being any better this coming year...

I disagree with your logic here. First off, with a healthy AK47 who is getting close to superstardom with some of the numbers he puts up (that no one else can), i really cant see how our team replacing him instead of Q ross in the starting lineup doesnt make us championship contenders when we werent even that far off this year. Also, we cant say the combination of 2 players is equal to him, because were talking TWO players. That means to equal his output, wed have to have TWO guys on the floor. But we can have just ONE Ak47 on the floor, and still have another player doing his thing.
Mobley i dont think is going anywhere, no one will want his contract, and its doubtful the organization wants to send the message that we sign the richest FA in history and then get rid of him after a year. But who knows. I certainly wouldnt mind having mobley and maggette in a package for a SG/SF superstar.
I do see mobley as doing better this year though. HOPEFULLY if maggs can stay injury free, mobley will be able to play his natural position of SG, hopefully mobley's hand injuries are 100% gone, and HOPEFULLY since he wont have to play so much defense, he wont be so worn out. Not to mention just the intangible of being in the offense for a year, and knowing it better.
Im expecting mobley to increase in all statistical categories this year. If not, then go ahead and ship him out....

i agree that ak47 would fit right in, and make us a championship caliber team.
about mobley: i bashed him pretty hard for his mediocre production, but with one more year in the system, he should do well. i hope.
