This is good news for the Clippers, not sure though if Brand comes back in February that it will matter in terms of getting to the playoffs. By then the Clippers might be in a big hole. It would be nice to see him and Livingston play again thats for sure.

Its good news, but only if he can come back 100% which would open up the option again of him opting out of his deal after the year.
But im not holding my breath. When is the last time someone in the nba had offseason achilies and came back 100% (or even came back at all) before the season was up? Even for professional athletes, the most athletic and fast healing people in the world, the standard is about one year. And elton brand doesnt exactly have lebron's or corey's body. Im just still sceptic about him coming back 100% or even 90 for that matter, in February.

If he's able to come back in February, it would be borderline miraculous. I'd be worried about the possibility re-injury though.

I definitely don't want to see him back this year unless he's 100%. It's no use at this point with the team competing for a top lottery spot. I resisted the urge to go along with the board's consensus earlier on in the season, but now I think I'd have to agree. Shut down Brand and Livingston, trade Maggette, and just play out the rest of the season with what you have. This team will be too far behind by the break to even have a shot at competing for a playoff spot. RIP 07-08.

At this point, we don't really know if he'll be back this season, and if he is, when he would be. I hope he doesn't try to rush back from the injury, but he might be ready.
So we know as much as you do at the moment.

Pure stupidity by the organization and brand himself to be rushing things like this. Ive said it a mlilion times, and mike smith said it again today during the memphis game, no athlete has ever come back from this kind of injury during the same season, usually its even 12 calender months or more. And brand wants to come back 7-8 months only after?
Stupid for the clippers in that any improvement on the court means less chance at a good draft pick. Stupid for brand as hes risking further injury to come back too early.
the only way this makes sense is HIGHLY UNLIKELY.....if Brand wants out, and wants to show the league he can play so that he can opt out next year. (if he doesnt come back this year, i guarantee he will not opt out). Then maybe ok i can understand why hes trying to come back early, and why the clippers are letting him (they might want to use his cap space to make a run at areanas).
