Re: GT: Clippers Hosting Spurs 1/06
Clippers up 41-38 as a time out is taken with 2:30 remaining in the first half.
Thornton blocked Duncan, glad to see the rookie is taking it to Duncan and not backing down, he's going to be something very solid in a few years.

Good first half performance by the Clips ... hopefully we can keep it up for the 2nd and get the W.

Re: GT: Clippers Hosting Spurs 1/06
So after the end of the first half, were right back to where we started as the teams are tied up at 42. Clippers aren't bringing the energy anymore like they used to and Maggette is getting no calls, so they need to adjust in the 2nd half and come right back out with energy. Bang it into Kaman then let Maggette and Thortnon slash, then you have open jumpers for Sammy, Mobley and Timmy

Re: GT: Clippers Hosting Spurs 1/06
and by the way the clippers should be very careful, since they cant make more than 1 shot in a row on the offensive end...they better withstand any runs the spurs may go on cuz if not this can get really ugly really fast....

That's the one thing I've never liked about Corey and always called him out on it, stopped recently because I'm tired of people saying I hate Corey so I've just let it go. Glad I'm not the only one who's sick of him. He shouldn't even be the #2 option on a legit team if you were to ask me, but he thinks he's awesome. If only he had the smarts and intelligence of Manu, he could be such a dangerous player.

Re: GT: Clippers Hosting Spurs 1/06
10:31 left in the third and the Clippers forced to call a time-out as the Spurs come out on a 4-0 run and lead 46-42. Clippers are turning it over right away thus far in the 2nd half

Re: GT: Clippers Hosting Spurs 1/06
Time-Out on the floor and the Spurs lead 56-54 with 5:16 remaining in the third quarter. Parker is getting into the key at will, while on the opposite end, Clippers are pretty stagnant. Maggette finally finished a lay-up without trying to draw a foul, but on the very next possession, tries to draw a foul on a jumper.

Re: GT: Clippers Hosting Spurs 1/06
Pop calls a time-out after a nice jumper hit by Thornton after spinning. 58 all with 2:01 left in the third quarter. Seems like neither team wants to or can capitalize and open this game up, and these final two minutes of the third quarter will be huge to determine who has momentum in the fourth and final quarter.

Re: GT: Clippers Hosting Spurs 1/06
Spurs come out victors like expected by a final tally of 88-82. If you would have told me before the game that the Clippers would be in the game until the end, let alone have the lead in the fourth quarter, I would have said no way. But they did it and if we can keep this squad together, teamed up with a lotto pick and Elton, could end up being really dangerous.
Zane had yet another solid game, scoring 20, grabbing 14, dishing 3, swatting 3 and turning it over just once on 7-11 shooting from the field[6-8 ft]
Thornton was solid, dropping 17 and grabbing 8 boards, although it took him 19 shots to get it. I like the fact that he doesn't hang his head low like some rookies would, instead, he goes right back and tries to get another score.
Powell was solid in 13:34 minutes of action. He scored 4 points, grabbed 6 boards, dished two dimes and never turned it over. Seems to me that he's finally getting used to the team and getting comfortable.
Spurs had three times more free throw attempts as well.

Re: GT: Clippers Hosting Spurs 1/06
Can't really be disappointed with the result the Clippers played well against one of the best teams in the NBA and had a chance to win. Kaman and Thorton were just great tonight both putting up big numbers. Fouls really hurt the Clippers as the Spurs shot 36 FT's to the Clippers the 12, that is where the Clippers lost the game.
