Frahm's contract about to turn guaranteed (Frahm waived)

Dunleavy met after the game with Elgin Baylor, the Clippers' vice president of basketball operations, and player personnel director Neil Olshey. The topic of discussion was guard Richie Frahm, whom the Clippers signed to a non-guaranteed contract Dec. 14, one day after they waived forward Ruben Patterson.Today is the first day that NBA teams can sign players to 10-day contracts. A player signed to a 10-day contract can be signed to a second 10-day contract, once the first one expires. However, after the second one ends, a team either must sign that player for the remainder of the season or waive him. Frahm's contract would be guaranteed for the remainder of the season, if he remained on the Clippers' roster after Thursday. A very likely scenario would be for the Clippers to waive Frahm, then sign him to a 10-day contract, once he clears waivers, after 48 hours. The Clippers' staff did not reach a decision after Sunday's game but are expected to make one after today's morning practice

Re: Frahm's contract about to turn guaranteed
guaranteeing him, instead of Ruben is stupid, he is supposed to give us a shooter but he aint done ****, atleast with Ruben he would give us a great defensive presence and an occasional drive to the hoop, but most important, the noticeable desire to be out on the floor and giving it 100%

Re: Frahm's contract about to turn guaranteed
I'd be surprised if he turns guaranteed, or if we do waive him he agrees to a 10-day contract. Can't we ask for an extra roster spot due to Davis being done for the season? Just like Orlando did with Tony Battie being out?
I wonder if Dunleavy will waive Dickau instead to bring Pooh Richardson out of retirement

if he goes guaranteed, then dunleavvy is a big fat liar, as they said they dropped patterson to keep open that extra spot in case of injury.

Re: Frahm's contract about to turn guaranteed
The way Thornton is playing and the time he is getting I am over the whole Patterson thing, the fact that he hasn't been signed since he got cuts 3-4 weeks ago says something. As for Frahm he has shown some good things in some games but in others has been quiet. In order for Frahm to succeed in this league he has to create his own shot and do a better job of getting open.

Re: Frahm's contract about to turn guaranteed (Frahm waived)
I wonder if the Clippers try to sign him to a 10 day contract now, of coarse someone can claim him though of the waiver list. I think the Clippers like him but don't want to be tied up with no extra roster spots.

As expected, the Clippers placed the 30-year-old journeyman guard on waivers following Monday's practice with the intent on signing Frahm to a 10-day contract Wednesday.
However, a 48-hour period must pass, during which time Frahm is available to be claimed by any other NBA team. The odds are the Clippers will be able to get him back. Other than the Clippers, Phoenix is the only team that has expressed any interest in Frahm (the Suns had Frahm in training camp but waived him after the final exhibition game). However, the Suns have 14 players with guaranteed contracts, including Jalen Rose, who is a NBA television analyst and no longer is playing in the league.

not sure if we really need him with thomas back. go ahead and give the SG minutes to cassell, mobley, ross, perhaps sometimes maggette.
