Clippers Receive Encouraging Report On Livingston

Yahoo.com -

The Clippers received an encouraging report on guard Shaun Livingston, who hasn't played since severely injuring his left knee 10 1/2 months ago.

"The medical team feels he's going to make a full recovery," team president Andy Roeser said at halftime of Wednesday night's game against the Magic. "There's a pretty good chance he'll be on the court before the end of the season.

It will be nice to see him come back as long as he doesn't rush it.

Re: Clippers Receive Encouraging Report On Livingston

Actually here is a report today saying his return might be delayed, odd since he said on tv today he felt he was ahead of schedule.

http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-...la-home-sports

Quote:
Livingston, recovering from a dislocated left knee and torn ligaments, was told in Birmingham, Ala., that he can continue working on strengthening the leg, but he is not ready to begin working on regaining his leaping and explosive ability.

He will continue the strengthening routines, but cut down on his on-the-court workouts, he said.

although ive always say Livingston sucks, i like him, and this is great news, hope they dont rush it though, it would be nice if somehow the CLippers could keep for a reasonable amount since he hasnt played in such a long time n stuff.

Re: Clippers Receive Encouraging Report On Livingston

We need to give Livingston some minutes before the offseason. If he's lost his step, we need to draft a PG, but if he can clearly still play, we can still be safe and draft Beasley, Jordan, or Greene. If Livingston doesn't play we'll have to be cautious and draft a PG, and I'd personally rather draft the best player possible.

Livingston needs to see time.

regardless of livingston's condition, i think that we need to draft the best player available...here's my rough draft:

rose
beasley
gordon/mayo
batum

and please, oh please, we better not take roy hibbert...dx has us taking him, but why?? he's older than most of the potential lottery picks, and he's unathletic, and we already have kaman...we would be stupid to waste a lotto pick on a backup...and we better not take love or koufos either...

but i digress...

I can see Batum dropping to 9/10 and Gordon as low as 7. DeAndre Jordan should crack the top 5 in my opinion, if he declares which isn't likely. Sure, his stats might not be great, but he's getting 10/7 and shooting 77% from the field in 21 minutes and is just a frosh.

Ok, well here's my draft board if we end up in the top 5:
1] Michael Beasley
2] Derrick Rose
3] Eric Gordon
4] Jerryd Bayless
5] Chase Budinger

Edit: This is really a year where I'd consider dealing out of the top 3[unless we get #1 for Beasley] to get multiple picks. A lot of late gems in this draft such as Singletary, Augustine, DJ White, Hardin, Prince Luc, Shipp.

Re: Clippers Receive Encouraging Report On Livingston

I think we need impact SG or PG in the draft regardless of Livy's health this year, he has always been injury prone and that probably wouldn't change now. I like Beasley a lot but if EB stays, we shouldn't take him, even if we had the number #1 pick(But at picks 3 and 4, hell yes). We desperately need backcourt scoring and guards who can create their own shots and shots for their teammates, because currently nobody on the team can do that and that's a big reason why he are last in the league in scoring.

So my draft board right now looks like this if we are in the top 5.

1. Rose
2. Gordon
3. Beasley
4. Bayless
5. Greene

Reason I'd take Bayless is because with Dunleavy being in love with his half-court grind it out matchup offense, imagine team's trying to match-up with a front court of Beasley - Brand - Kaman. They'd have nightmares.

If it was my personal team and we would keep EB, I wouldn't take Beasley, just think that Dunleavy likes him the most. Rose/Beasley is the only two I'd personally take at #1, but if we get #3, I won't mind dealing to get a pick in the 6-9 range and one in the early 20s to take let's say, Budinger and Collison. .

I really like this kid Bayless he isen't a true point guard but could develope easily. He's EXPLOSIVE and could finish well, I woulden't mind taking him.

Re: Clippers Receive Encouraging Report On Livingston

clippers next year can take the best player available if they have top 5 pick. reasons being is

1. Unless someone blows up, there will not be a true center in the top 5 picks.
2. If its beasley, fine. We cross our fingers that brand opts out so we can go into freeagency, but if not, he can still get 30 minutes a game right off the bat, then we can either trade brand or wait for the next year to give beasly the reigns to start.
3. If its a wing player sg/sf, fine. maggette is gone. Thomas is 6th man at best, mobley has the body of a 40 year old, thornton hasnt shown that he can be a good starter in this league.
4. If its a PG, fine again. Whether or not livingston is back next year, if its either rose or mayo, those guys are already better than a healthy livingston.

But again, we cant trust the clippers to pick the right guy when its a crap shoot. Thats why i want them to get top 3, where theres almost no way they can make a mistake...if our pick is 4-8, then i shudder at the "brain" trust and who they decide to get.
