Re: arenas?
it would be a terrible trade because Arenas is opting out next year (he announced it on his blog minths ago) and Brand will more than likely not. I say we wait until the off season and then make a run at Arenas. I have a funny feeling like he might want to come back home!

Re: arenas?
I don't think I would do it right now. Arenas' future is up in the air with his announced FA.

Agreed. I wouldn't do the deal anyway, but especially not considering the current status of Arenas' contract in Washington. Re-sign Elton, (who is only 28!) let Maggette and Cassell walk after this season, and make a run at Gilbert when he opts out of his deal. Having Arenas here without Brand would just be senseless.

Re: arenas?
Only way I'd say yeah to a swap is if he signs an extension for less then the max[which I honestly don't think he deserves, he's great and all, but he's a pure chucker basically] and we get Beasley in the draft.
Arenas, Mobley, Thornton, Beasley, Kaman .

Re: arenas?
You just can't let Brand go, even for Arenas. Having both though, would be a dream for any Clipper fan. If there's any way to get it done, do it. I would think the likelihood of Arenas signing an extension is great since he is an LA native and he was close to signing withthe Clippers before (right?).
