I disagree, I think theres a talent drop-off from Beasley to everyone else.

Then Rose is next (pretty much the consensus #2 pick), but I don't think theres all that much of a talent drop-off between Rose and say Gordon, Mayo or Bayless.
Maybe a drop-off in appeal, but the talent's definately there for 2 or 3 guys to be on Rose's tier (albeit lower on it).

Anyway, Mayo's been playing great lately and definately has the superstar mentality, so if he's available you should take him.
Westbrook's a really underrated guard too but I just don't think theres much special to him on the NBA level.

Can I ask a non-related question - if Brand is planning on opting out (or you don't plan on keeping him), could a Brand-Marion S&T be considered? Maggette is also expiring as your SF right?

Re: 2008 draft?

i don't know about everyone else, but i wouldn't want marion on the team for max type contract...i would just let brand go and try to save the money for someone like arenas...and yes, maggette is expiring...

Re: 2008 draft?

We NEED the Juice!!! The kid is an underrated defensive player. Timmy FLoyd has him playing some great D. He has been on fire lately offensively as well. Anyone see him go off yesterday vs. Stanford? He is averaging over 20 ppg in the #1 conference in the country. The kid is for real!!

If Brand opts out, I don't think you can do a double sign a trade, if I remember correctly it isn't possible. But if Brand doesn't, which all indications right now point to, I don't the Clippers trade him in the off-season. Brand has big time support from Sterling, Dunleavy, and Baylor.

K thanks, you also sort of answered my next question - with Thornton and Kaman, how willing is your team in keeping Brand? Would you pretty much match any reasonable offer?

My guess is yes, Sterling a few weeks ago said something like he believes Brand is worth the money.
