Your Thoughts ...

These are factual statements taken from another forum ... how do you feel about the comments/

****************************

Does it get much worst than this?:

1)Donald Sterling says he supports Mike Dunleavy as the coach and won't fire him

2)Dunleavy says the possibility of Brand and Maggette both leaving doesn't worry him

3)Dunleavy says he would be open to trading our draft pick

4)The Clippers get beat down by the Lakers by 40 points

It's not a coincidence the game after Sterling's pronouncement of support for Mike Dunleavy, the Clippers put out the most pathetic effort I have ever seen from an NBA basketball team.

This team quit on Mike Dunleavy a long time ago, and last night was a statement that nobody wants to play for him. At the top of the list is Corey Maggette, who we can say goodbye to because Mike Dunleavy isn't going anywhere.

But hey, why would we fire him?

1)Donald Sterling says he supports Mike Dunleavy as the coach and won't fire him
Does this surprise anyone? We have been saying this for a year and a half. Why would sterling eat such a huge contract. The only way it works out is if dunleavvy signs another deal meaning we wont owe him the money, but no way does he make NEAR what hes making with us, so even in the best case scenario, sterling has to eat millions. Not likely to happen. (but then again, who would have thought sterling would have allowed the things hes allwoed with spending habits before?)

Quote:
2)Dunleavy says the possibility of Brand and Maggette both leaving doesn't worry him
Doesnt worry me either. With those guys we are going to do nothing. WIthout them we have a chance at something. Either way no sense to worry about it, both things dont exactly doom us to mediocrity, while neither scenarios guarantee us sucess.

Quote:
3)Dunleavy says he would be open to trading our draft pick
I havent seen this quote, but first of all, we already know this indirectly, as its been reported dunleavvvy wanted to trade our pick for miller which would have been pure stupidity. I myself would be fine with trading the pick if it was for a superstar player.

4)The Clippers get beat down by the Lakers by 40 points
Dont know what this has to do with anything? Any surprise that one of the best teams in the nba beat one of the worst teams in the nba by a big margin?

Quote:

Um. yes it most certainly is coincidence, since the two have nothing to do with each other. That wasnt near the most pathetic effort of a team probably even in that week. Seriously, what did you expect?

Now i thought you had said you were quoting factual statements? Theres nothing to prove something like this, and there was for SURE no statement made. Its amazing how people here are surprised that were loosing, and by big margains. has anyone stopped to take a look at our lineup lately, and the healthieness of the guys were putting on the floor?

Sterling must be smoking something Dunleavy gave him. But before we fire Dunleavy...can we fire Baylor?

Quote:

Eh, as a fan, I want them back, but I also want to win so if they aren't back..we better use our cap space wisely.

3)Dunleavy says he would be open to trading our draft pick
After the lotto, I would as well. Besides Rose/Beasley, it's a crap shoot on who goes where. Getting multiple picks or trading down and picking up a role player would be great.

Did you really expect anything else? Be serious here. They have one of the best scorers in the league and a top 10 pf, while last night we had a foul troubled Thornton, an injured with time limited Kaman and Maggette? I guess you expect Powell to make a huge difference??

With Thornton playing the way he is..why overpay to keep Maggette? Let's S&T him and try to get something solid for him.

Because it's Baylor we need to get rid of first and foremost.

Re: Your Thoughts ...

Baylor needs to go. Period. He is totally useless.

I think maggette is out the door, but im still worried about SF. Id like to see thornton play significant minute,s and have success at SF before im comfortable about going into the season with him penciled in as the starter. So far most of his best games have been played the majority at the PF position, which we know will be occupied next year by one elton brand.

Also, some have mentioned here, which i agree with, that thornton is at his best when he doesnt have to think, where hes the number one option out there, and just goes with the flow. however, with a full roster next year, brand will be 1, kaman 2, and MAYBE if dunleavvy starts him, thornton 3. (as in third option). Meaning that a lot of his looks will have to come in the flow of the ridiculous dunleavvy offense. Im still worried about that. Honestly, id be happier with trading brand for a wing player or guard, and having a kaman/thornton front court. I think that could do some damage, especially with an all star calliber guard drawing the defense out

Re: Your Thoughts ...

And to agree with the posts above me, Baylor has to go. He has been here far to long and nothing has really changed in all those years. The Clippers have to be dead last in mid-season trades during his rein.
