One of the funniest/dumbest things you will read in a while

The Magic probably could get him for the mid-level exception ($5.5 million) if they extend it out for five years. Maggette started his career in Orlando, but he was traded after one year during the salary cap purge of 2000.

This belongs in the hall of shame.

Besides Maggette never taking that offer...why the hell would Orlando give him that when they already have Turkoglu and Lewis at the wings? Both of which you can say are superior to Corey? Really is stupid

lol, you're talking about a team that could've signed Rashard Lewis for 90 million outright and decided, it was better that they give him that extra 30 Million in a sign and trade. They don't know what they're doing.

lol, maggette is not a MLE player. I know its supposed to be a rough free agent market this summer, but if his demands get even close to MLE, i say we offer him 7 mil per year right away on a 6 year deal.

Re: One of the funniest/dumbest things you will read in a while

Again Lewis is overpaid, but that doesn't suddenly make him suck as a player or make it a terrible signing. Because in case you haven't noticed the Magic are going to win over 50 games and the division this year, and they didn't even finish .500 last season. His presence has allowed the emergence of Hedo Turkoglu. Who cares if you overpay for a guy and he's key in turning the team into a winner? And I've explained a million times on this site why it's not that big of a deal throwing in $30 million extra (and a 6th year) as far as cap flexibility is concerned.

With all that said, I just read that article and had the same reaction when I saw that part. I read a few times to make sure I read it right. Maggette is not a MLE player, but I could see him in Orlando as part of a S&T deal. It does make sense.
