Brand Returning
I think It's clear that if Brand plays well, looks good and obviously doesn't re-injure himself, he's gone. Would he be coming back with a handful of games left to play and the Clippers eliminated from playoff contention if he didn't want to prove himself to somebody? No. Would he risk injury just to get some action in meaningless games when he's an established all-star in this league? No. It's clear to me he's coming back to showcase his healthy body to teams other than the Clippers, and if he can put up stats and look good enough to make it reasonable to opt out and give up a lot of money he's gone. I don't buy any excuse for him coming back this late for a few meaningless games other than for himself trying to get out of L.A. and get paid somewhere else. Are you excited for him coming back later this week? I'm certainly not, and I hope he doesn't play well.

Re: Brand Returning
I don't think that's the reason for EB coming back to play. EB is one of the most classiest players in the league and I believe his #1 reason for coming back to play is because he feels like he owns it to the organization and fans that he play if he is healthy.
With being the type of guy he is, he sees his teammates struggling and he wants to help them, even if it is in some meaningless games. To him these last games mean a lot as they are his last chance to test his injury in real NBA games until next season.
But playing in these last games and showing that he is healthy definitely will help him in free agency but I don't think that is his reason for coming back. Maybe his agent is thinking like that but I doubt EB is.

Re: Brand Returning
i agree with paid too.
Brand has never steered us fans wrong, he's EARNED the benefit of the doubt.
If i were a b-ball fiend like he seems to be, i'd want to play THIS year too.

Co-sign with Paid as well. Not to mention that it seems that he is staying from his quotes and writers beliefs.

Re: Brand Returning
i wish hobojo was right. But i really doubt he can showcase anything over a couple of games when he hasnt played in so long.

Re: Brand Returning
Maybe Brand is coming back to show that the Clippers would be awesome with him, and then he'll opt out for less money and more years as we try to get Arenas here?
Hey, if Brand wants to win, it's the best possibility.

Re: Brand Returning
Honestly I think some of you are naive. Brand wanted to leave years ago when he signed the offer sheet with Miami, what makes you think the current state of the Clippers has him any more excited about being in L.A. this time around? The difference is if he opts out he's free to go wherever he wants and there's nothing the Clippers can do about it. Yes he's a classy guy and he's saying the right things, but to me the only reason he'd stay would be if the $17 million he's owed is too much to pass up. He may be willing to bite the bullet for one more year because of the money then leave, but honestly if he wants to win he should leave and leave now while he can be in his prime. He's coming back to do his best so he can leave, I really believe that.

Re: Brand Returning
unless we make moves of the magnitude we did when we got sam and cuttino (i know it doesnt seem like much, but for a franchise that never did anything it was alot) i dont think we can win with EB so he can either leave, or the clippers can hope they get some actual veteran talent around him that would make him want to stay....if not for him, to entice a free agent to come ....
if not then....we better get used to these ****ing pathetic 20 win seasons

Re: Brand Returning
Tell Brand to call Arenas... tell him. COME HOME TO LA, YOU WERE RAISED HERE!
Then we'll get Bruno on the line and tell him to give Arenas an offer he can't refuse.
That is... well... a nice contract.
