lets say memphis, new york, and the clips have the same record at the end of the season, and none of these three teams have a pingpong ball go their way, who will receive the higher pick?....looks like a strong possibility because we will probably lose out and finish with 23 wins....ny has 22 wins right now and their schedule looks like they will win at least one of the four remaining games, while memphis right now has 21 wins, playing miami next game, then minnesota, portland and denver...
"In the event that teams finish with the same record, each tied team receives the average of the total number of combinations for the positions that they occupy. In 2007, the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Portland Trail Blazers tied for sixth worst record. The average of the 6th and 7th positions in the lottery was taken, resulting in each team getting 53 combinations (the average of 63 and 43). Should the average number not be an integer, a coin flip is then used to determine which team or teams receive the extra combination(s)."
knicks: they will lose to atlanta, win against boston (only because boston already clinched homecourt and will be resting their starters), and lose against indy...they will end up with a 24-58 record
grizz: they will beat mia, beat minny, and lose to portland and denver...they will end up at 23-59
clippers: they have no chance in hell against the lakers, warriors, hornets, or rockets...all on the road, expect the against the lakers, but i don't think that will really matter...the clips will end up with 23-59...
so here is the list of worst teams up to the clippers...
1. mia 14-68
2. sea 18-64
3. min 19-63
4. mem/lac 23-59 (here is where that victory on 3/29 really hurt us)
5. nyk 24-58
so, we will either have the 4th or 5th worst record depending on the coin flip between us or memphis...however, us being the clippers, we will probably end up with the 5th worst record...
