Draft: #6 we gamble on Danillio Ganilarri and at #14 we take Darrell Arthur
Free Agency: Shaun Livingston signs for QO, Ross signs a 3 year/10 mil extension, Josh Powell's option is picked up, Diop is picked up at the full MLE for 2 years, Giricek is picked up at the LLE Final Depth Chart:
PG: Baron Davis | Brevin Knight | Shaun Livingston
SG: Cuttino Mobley | Quinton Ross | Gordan Giricek
SF: Al Thornton | Andres Nocioni | Tim Thomas
PF: Al Harrington | Darrell Arthur | Danillo G
CE: Chris Kaman | DeSagna Diop | Josh Powell
Now, will this happen? No way in hell, but I'd love it. Everyone on the team can play multiple positions legitametly but Kaman, Knight and Mobley. Hell, just looking at the 2nd unit seems solid.

Like I said, I say no way in hell does my little scenario occur, but what are some of you guys offseason plans?
The more I think about it, the more I think we really need to get Budinger. Im looking at the list of draft entrants. Really, theres not another true SG that Id be that interested in above him. Mayo is listed as a SG, I think hed play a lot of point for us, obviously id pick mayo over Budinger.
But Eric Gordon....youd need a top 6-7 pick to get him, and at his height, im not sure how successful he will be in the NBA. Could be a wade...could be daniel ewing. Russell Westbrook, again a height issue, and I think anyone who gets him really would have plans for him at PG. After that, who is there really at SG? Batum? Hes got the size, but still too many questions about his game, and being another one of those that relies alot on his athletisim, im not sure hes a dunleavvy kind of guy. Douglas Roberts about the only other one considerable, but again, someone i dont think fits well into dunleavvy's ideal SG.
If we keep livingston i dont see any point in using a lottery pick on a PG. If brand comes back, weve also got a lot of depth up front at Center and Power Forward. And even if maggette leaves, weve got thornton, possibly ross, and Tim Thomas for minutes at SF.
Figures that our position of need, SG is about the weakest position in the draft this year.

yama, what do you mean you don't see the point of using a lotto pick on a PG if we keep Livingston? Livingston can't be relied on no longer to stay healthy and be this team's PG. What happens if we gets hurt again or his knee becomes sore, we'll be in the exact same position we were all of this season.
I'm not saying reach on a PG at 6 just b/c we need one, I'm just saying a good SG is a lot easier to get than a good PG. So if I was gonna trade down it wouldn't be to get Budinger, it would be to get a PG like Augustin, who will give Livingston a run for his money if he's healthy and make for a very good PG rotation.
I rather the Clippers sign a SG like Azubuike than draft Budinger.

Well, if were talking Rose or Mayo, i dont care who we have here almost (unless we had chris paul or something), of course i go PG. But there is such a big drop off from there, I really dont think i want to spend a number 6-10 pick on that position, if we have livingston back. Because if we pick up livingstons option of 5 million or whatever, by definition, he must have proven himself healthy enough to be relied upon to the clipper staff, otherwise i dont see them forking out that much money on him.
Depending on what happens with brand, and if we resign livingston, we will only have MLE again next year I believe. I really dont think for a portion of that, like say 2 million, we can get someone like an azubuike. Thats why i say we can draft that position and perhaps do better.
So anyways, what i am saying is, that we really wont "need" a PG if we resign livingston. Because know dunleavvy is going to give knight minutes thanks to his infatuation with vet PG's, and especially if we lose Q Ross (for defensive purposes), and IF we resign livingston it must be because they plan on starting him or getting big minutes out of him, otherwise i dont know why they would pay him 5 million...
If we dump livingston, then by all means we need to get a PG. But IMO, with livvy, might as well just resign dickau, diaz, jordan, or someone along those lines. There are plenty of decent 3rd string PG's available for the minimum, but i cant remember the last time we had a decent SG that we were paying minimum to. (unless we consider Q Ross a SG)

i really dont want to take any chances with a player whos had an injury plagued career.....
knowing our luck the guy whoever it may be would prob just get injurd the first game of the season and never play for us . . . and especially if we lose it seems player would just "act" hurt so they dont have to play
so i dont want to risk that
if we get rid of EB there is no point in keeping Corey Maggette
so if they can work out a deal involving both or maggette alone that would good
My hope is that the Clippers jump up into the top 3, heck I will be happy with #3. At #6 the Clippers might have to take Gordon, he is good but had some setbacks toward the end of the season. Top 5 is a better place to be but that is not in the Clippers hands. I don't know about trading down, not sure any players lower will help significantly. As for FA, if the Clippers can't get Rose in the draft I wouldn't mind them making strong pushes for Arenas or Baron but Baron might not opt out. PG issue is the biggest the Clippers have and they have to address with either a big signing or a trade. I don't know if Livingston can be counted on again, he has a long way to go. As for the rest of the roster, I a trade of TT might not be too bad. He was very disappointing when called upon but then again he might be better when he comes off the bench and is a role player rather than a go to player. And always it wouldn't hurt getting rid of Mobley's and TT's contracts. Oh yeah, I forgot about Maggette, I am unsure what to do with him. My guess is though he will leave.
I forgot to mention that the Clippers should probably decline the QO on Livingston and try to sign him cheap. It is a little hard to justify playing him 5.8 mil after missing 1.5 years.
