the rookie first team would be such a terrible team if was to actually play games, they wouldn't have any playmakers.

Yeah, this shouldnt be a surprise. Already with the rookie of the year voting, we knew he was 4th best according to nba, so he had to be first team. Sure enough he got the 4th most votes in this as well.

The reason though he didnt make the rookie all star team is its different than this...there, they actually rank by position, here any position can be on the first team. Not to mention that thornton did better after all star break.

I think barring injury, we can be assured that thornton will be on the rookie/sophmore game next year.
