Kenyon Dooling
I'm assuming he will be starting at the point guard positiong. What do you all think of him and what is his game composed of?

Marko Jaric right now is the front runner for the starting PG job.
What does Dooling bring to the game? Right now, all he brings is the ability to come in and try and score for himself. Last year he played selfishly and only tried to involve himself.
What physical ability does he possess? Everything. Size, athleticism, agility, shooting ability, penetration ability ... He just needs to learn to play within himself and within a system and he'll be fine. He's still young and has potential, so we'll see how he develops for next year.

Im gonna have to say Jaric is our starter at PG.
Im sure sometime we will be going odom at the PG with Q and Maggette out there. Thats not to bad either.
We still really need a shooter though.
Hopefully Sterling gets one.
Oh yeah and he resings Odom and matches Maggette.

Dooling will be a floor general... Your right he did play selfishly last year... Name me a Clippa who didn't play selfish last year otha than Brand... The season past was a train wreck... So lets hope Jaric... Dooling and Odom use a TEAM first attitude while mannin the point... I think they'll do the job this year personally... Damn near two deep wit quality at every position... Watch out

Unless the Clips have said that the job is Dooling's, Jaric is the definite front runner for the position...Jaric is so much better than Dooling is.

All last year.
Jaric played with more intensity, played more consistently, played better defense, and played unselfishly.
Dooling came in, played selfishly and got burnt on defense.
You can save Jaric is overrated all you want. No matter how good you think Jaric is, Dooling wasn't anywhere near his level last year.
And I am a HUGE Keyon Dooling fan. I want the team to hold on to him because he has all the physical gifts. But he did not have a good year last year.

I'm sorry, but WHY would you want Dooling to start Jaric. Jaric and Brand were the only two unselfish players last year. Jaric learned very quickly last year, coming in from Europe, playing PG at times. He still has many things to learn, and he is a quick learner, so I think he can be a very good starting PG for us. WAY better than Dooling. All Dooling did last year was shoot. Even if it was a shot way behind the arc, he took it. Dooling is good, but he is selfish, and wouldn't be a good fit at point guard. Jaric would be great at PG, and present match-up problems with his size. Also, Jaric isn't too bad of a shooter.

Well said. That's exactly how I saw Jaric every time I watched the Clippers play. He has good court vision and is an awesome passer.
I think Keyon is a great guard, but he likes shooting so I could see them playing both Jaric and Dooling in the backcourt at times but generally, Dooling will be the backup. He is a decent player with a not so bad shot.

Regarding Jaric....I think he's 2 slow in terms of speed and quickness to be a true PG. IMHO, I'd rather start Dooling over Jaric...he's quicker, more athletic, and has better ball-handling skills over all.
I sat courtside for several Clip games last year...and I don't share the same enthusiasm for Jaric as most of u guys do... The man doesn't play aggressively...he's not a penetrator like your typical PG...he plays like a SG...(a soft one at that).
If it was possible ..i'd shipped both of them to Dallas in exchange for Van Exel.... Say what u will regarding Van Excel...but u know that u'll be getting at least 15PPG from him every night and he's not afraid to to take it to the basket like Jaric is......

What are you talking about... Jaric is a great penetrator, however he didn't finish around the rim very well last year. I think this year way more of those shots will fall, he knows what to expect now taking it to the rim.
Jaric is overlooked by soo many people right now.. but after this year it wont be possible to overlook his all around skills

Jaric is a good all-around player. In case you forgot, he just came over to America last year, and played his first year in the NBA, so he was still getting used to how we play.
