Smile Chad Ford On Terry

He says that the Hawks are waiting for the market to set a price on Terry. Nobody has offered yet, but things could change next week and the Clippers are talking about offering Terry a sheet.

I would love to have Terry on the team, but I highly doubt the Hawks would let us take Terry. Not to mention I doubt we offer him a big enough contract they the Hawks think twice about it.

But hey I would love to have Terry at the PG.

Offering him a sheet is pointless -- unless someone offers him like the max, the Hawks will just match. All you'd be doing is deciding what contract he'll be getting, assuming he'd sign it.

Yea the only way that the Hawks probly wont match is if we offer him the Max..Which isnt a bad idea..It is better then giving Odom the max..

Giving Terry the MAX is a horrible idea. Solid player, but nowhere near that. I wouldnt even offer him Odom money.

I'd try to work out some sort of sign and trade if at all possible, because I think Terry would fit nicely here. But I would not break the bank, because he is not the superstar we need.

Let me guess you would give Jaric the Max thou..Terry is a 20ppg 8apg player..I would rather give him the a big contract then try are chance next year and get no one..but a sign and trade would be nice too..

If Andre Miller can get 53 million for 13 ppg/7 apg, then Jason Terry should get something around there. If he doesn't get as many assists,he still wouldn't lose purpose. He is a career 38% shooter from 3 point land (compared to 23% for Miller) and is a very quick player. So I would say he deserves around 55 million over 6 years, but since it's so late in free agency,I think he would sign an offer sheet for around 45-50 mil over 6 yrs.
I doubt the chances of getting him are high though, because unless the Hawks decide to completely rebuild, anything short of a max deal will get matched. (which Terry won't get)
Still,it must stink to be JT right now, I mean Rip got 62 mil, Dre got 53 mil, Maggette got 42 mil,Arenas got 60 mil, and even headcase Odom got 70+ mil. Its tough to set his value right now,he could get anywhere from $42 mil, to $55 mil. If I were him,I'd take the 1 year tender and become unrestricted next summer.

Nope, quit trying to put words in my mouth. I've never said Jaric was anywhere near worth the MAX. Only you could possibly come to that conclusion after reading my posts.

I would give Terry 55mill over 6, and maybe up to 60 if it means getting out of Atlanta's range. But he is not a MAX player.

Terry isnt the difference between the Clips making the playoffs and not making it, so its not a must move. Whether they have Terry or not, they still have a lot of work to do.

I too would take a one-year deal from Atlanta if I were him, but the problem with that is that from what I've heard he wants to stay with the Hawks. He's not like many other players who are really exploring their options -- everything I've heard about the situation is that he is just interested in returning to Atlanta.

It was obviously an exaggeration and a joke.
