Stephen Jackson anyone?
Since Lamar is gone, should DS pickup Stephen Jackson? There is still quite a bit of money available for FA signings and he may be the best young talent out there now. Or, would you all want to take a chance on the likes of a DerMarr Johnson?

Jackson might be a good pick up but i think QRich could be better then him..But i would would rather try to get Jason Terry in a sign and trade deal or Rafer Alston to run the point..

And here: The choice isn't Republican or Democrat. The choice is you got a guy that's worth $150 million with 12 houses against a guy who's worth a million dollars with one house.
KING: Well --
ROCK: The guy with one house really cares about losing a house, because he is homeless. The other guy can lose five houses and still got a bunch of houses. Does this make any sense? Am I the only one that sees this?

KING: You got a point.
ROCK: And sleep well.

I'd rather pass. Jackson played well at times last year, but he isn't anything special.
He's seeking a semi long term contract(3-5 years) and I wouldnt want to invest the money in him that long. He is not the difference between us making the playoffs and not, so I'd rather let our young guys(Q, Dooling, Jaric, Fowlkes) figure out just how good they are, how much time they deserve, and if we need to keep them around long term. Keep the money, let our guys develop, and reassess the situation next year. We could draft a young SF(Howard, Smith, Splitter, etc) in the draft next year to be our future SF.

Oh, but I would take a look at DerMarr. He wouldnt get a long term deal, and he wont be getting any sort of substantial cash, but he could pay huge dividends. I think thats the best remaining move we could make. Little risk, potentially huge reward if he can fulfill the potential he had before the accident.

Maybe Dermarr Johnson, but not Stephen Jackson. Like F_S_H said...Richardson could do just as good, if not better of a job at the SG/SF than Stephen Jackson.

I totally believe Q will be better than Stephen but I thought adding a player like Stephen to the team wouldn't hurt since Odom is gone.
As far as Jason Terry is concerend, who would the Hawks get in exchange? I can't see the Hawks getting what they need in return and I can't see JT signing on a trade unless it's financially sound. The Clippers would have to package at least 4 players just to get 7 million per year. I'm sure that's the type of $$ JT would sign for.
Dooling - 2.26 mill
Wang - 2.09
Jaric - 1.9
Q - 1.8
The Clippers ( I believe) are around 10 million under the cap. They can sign 2 or 3 quality FA. I think Stephen, DerMarr and even Cleaves would be good additions to the team.

1st choice- Try to trade for Jason Terry. He'll be great in LAC IMO.
2nd choice- Pick up a guy like DeMarr or Rafer Alston, but don't sign 'em up for too long (contract length).
3rd choice- Stephen Jackson, but contract mustn't be for too long.

I ain't diss'n anybody's opinion on this subject... But pickin up Stephen Jackson would be a waste of time and money... He's got no handles... His game is erratic... He can't pass... His tre ball isn't money all the time either... Therefore... Let Jackson get paid by someone desperate... Look into acquire'n Terry if possible... Start Maggs at the 3... Start Q at the 2... Let Jaric float between the 1..2 and 3... Give Dooling serious minutes at the point... I left Terry out of the proposed rotation cuz I really don't see him bein here this season... Wit Dooling..Jaric..House..Folwkes..Q..Maggs..Ely..Wil cox..Brand..Poly..Kaman and Wang were a few season's away from realistically compete'n for anything but the lottery... IMO... Might as well keep our young talent and see what they can do... Peace

I agree jackson is horrible and only looks half-way decent because he plays with Duncan. Take him away and I'll bet good money he'll average 9 To's a game. He has not handles like Eagle said, and his passing and decision make are as low as it gets. We need some more pieces but were not desperate.
