We Can't Pass On A 6'8 18 Yr. Old PG....
We have to take Shaun Livingston...
This kid was just measured in at a 1/4 of an inch shy of 6'8...
He's 190 and gaining, he's already put on about 15-20 lbs...
His body will not be an issue..
He will be a matchup nightmare every night...
Sign Jamal Crawford and draft Livingston...
Our PG guard situation is set for the next 10 years....

That tall of a PG could do some damage in the league. But the question I am thinking is he worth the #2 pick? I don't know if the Clippers want to pay more money for Livingston when they could get him later on for less.

Well Weasel...
He's not dropping past 5...
I think Charlotte would take him at 4...
He's already got a fan base in NC that planned on watching him at Duke, and seriously, it's not often a natural 6'8 PG comes into the league.

If the Clippers are really determined to get Livingston, Charlotte is the team to talk to. Charlotte may be getting another pick or two in the draft from teams looking for Charlotte to eat up a contract. Pair a possible late 1st or two with one of the players from the expansion draft and that's enough IMO to get the deal done. Antoine Walker was left unprotected, and I'm sure there's a team out there that would get involved in a 3-way deal, where Walker would go to the third team in return for a pick. Another player to think about is Reece Gaines; he had a terrible season, but I don't think people should give up on him after just one year...even if he isn't a PG. Another guy whom I think was left unprotected is Troy Bell (I'm pretty sure he was, but maybe not), and he could be a very decent player.
It's no big deal to get the right pieces for Charlotte, since they can take 29 players in the expansion draft. If they take Troy Bell, arrange a trade to get a pick for Antoine Walker (I'm thinking Utah might give up #14 or #16 and #21 for Walker, since they will need about 12 mil more in salaries just to make the minimum), that's already enough to make a deal. Utah, Golden State and Seattle would all have interest in Walker IMO Specifically Seattle, who could trade #12 with Jerome James and another of their hindering contracts for Walker, and be poised to have Walker and Ray Allen both come off the books after next year (clearing $29 mil); if they made this move they could be a surprise player in the T-Mac sweepstakes.
The only question is, how inclined is Charlotte to secure another pick or two for a player or two from the expansion draft. Walker, Kerry Kittles and a couple other guys left unprotected could get a mid first or late lotto pick to package with #4. Portland has lots of interest in Kittles, as do a couple of other teams. Charlotte is in a unique position of being able to trade very nice tradable commodities, without having them on their team; and Kittles and Walker are not even players that Charlotte would take anyway (nor would Charlotte take anyone else ffrom their teams).
On the Clippers' side, I like the idea of taking Livingston, but I lived in St. Louis for the past two years, and I saw many of his games (televised on local cable), and I don't see what sparates him from Cedric Bozeman, aside from Bozeman's knee problem. Like Bozeman, Livingston is controlled and tries to slide past defenders since he can't out-quick them. The biggest question is can Livingston improve, and not be like Cedric Bozeman, who has made little improvement over 3 years of college. One thing Livingston does however have that Bozeman didn't coming out of HS is a solid freethrow stroke, although his 3-point stroke isn't great (but it's better than Bozeman's is now), but Bozeman (even with his knee) is clearly a better athlete and defender (and was coming out of HS). Livingston is a complete hit or miss prospect, but he's definitely tempting becuase of his mentality and passing ability.

Just say NO to trading down. This isn't the NFL. You pick the player you feel is the best. If that is Livingston on the Clippers mind, then take him.

I dont think he will be that great of a player. Jaric is a tall point and all people want him to do now is play the wing. He didnt show anythink in the McDonalds game. He wouldn't play much next year either so he isnt the clips savior yet.

I agree. Livingston can't have that much more court vision than LeBron James, and he is not playing point guard anymore. In a couple years, Shaun will end up being another wing player who can't shoot.

Livingston has been a PG his whole life...
Now he suddenly will be a wing player?
You guys obviously have never seen the kid play...
If you want to base your scouting reports off the McDonald's Game, so be it, but that means jack**** to anyone...
There are as many teams trying to trade up for Livingston as there are Howard, but ya he sucks...

Yup. You're right. Still, even if he becomes a good player, I dont see that happening for a long time.

The reason LeBron is being moved off the point spot is because of his natural scoring abilities. You dont waste that type of talent by making him create for others all the time.
Livingston doesnt have the ability to score like LeBron. So just because LeBron was moved doesnt mean that Livingston will be moved as well. His game is that of a point guard, every way you look at it. LeBron has some skills of a point, but more on the wing as a scorer as well.
But, I do think that Livingston could be moved to a wing spot in the future. The kid does not possess standout athleticism, agility, or quickness. He may not have the footspeed to keep up with opposing point guards. Because he may become a liability in that regard, he may have to move to a wing and become a point forward(or point 2guard I guess).

How many people here think teams are talking with the bulls to trade up and take livingston at 3? If so if the clippers really want livingston they may have to take him at 2 and call it a day. If not they may end up trading out of the 2 spot and finding both howard and livingston gone.
