Here is a different spin on the subject, who would win in a game of one-on-one? If you consider that the ball must be checked at the top of the 3-point line I would go with Kobe. How is Shaq getting to the hoop without getting ripped? Even if he tries to back Kobe down Kobe has enough room to take the ball by going around him.

who can stop Kobe one on one?

also isn't this unfair to say because your only as good as your competition. and Shaq competition is at best an ailing Alonzo Mourning.

um your not serious are you ?

shaq wins as soon as he touches the ball

if it were posssible for 2 guards to contain shaq i'm sure other coaches would have figured this out by now

maybe you are exceptionally slow(physically) and have no frame of reference but do you know how incredibly hard it is to steal a ball using a tactic that the offensive player knows is your only chance?

chances are it wouldn't happen once and once at the absolute most meanwhile i think shaq will take the lets see how many J's you can hit in a row approach

when in doubt take the team that taking dunks instead

Yeah that was a pretty weak arguement on my part. But you'll have to dribble the ball far away from your body and you must also have to posses a very wide body as a shield to keep the defender from getting it. The reason why coaches don't "send two guards to contain Shaq" is because he usually doesn't dribble with his back to the basket at the 3 point line.

Shaq would have to slack off Kobe A LOT to keep him from getting uncontested dunks at will. On the other hand Kobe will at least provide some resistance to Shaq. Granted a 6'7" 225 pound man isn't much resistance to Shaq but at least it is some.
