Lakers w/o Shaq - Worst Team In The NBA?

That's a great question. SOme might think they are. I don't. The Lakers without Shaq are bad, actually horrible, but they still aren't quite as bad as the Warriors, Nuggets, Grizzlies, Heat, or Knicks. However, you can't help but notice something. That is: every team that is currently worse than the LA Lakers, asides from the Heat and Knicks, have lots have good young talent. So to make a long story short: When Shaq retires, the Lakers become the 98-99 to 2001-2002 Bulls. I don't care how good Kobe is, he's still no McGrady or KG when it comes to leading a team. So congratulations on your 3-peat Laker fans. It all ends soon, probably this year.

they have had some close games, but they're not the worse team in the NBA without Shaq.

postscript: Enough with the KG and Tmac leading a team comments. KG and Tmac haven't lead a team to do anything. And Kobe hasn't had the chance to do so.

Marvin, what would you do when Shaq retires to rebuild if you were the GM?

Lakers will have lots of cap room once Shaq retires, especialy considering all of the avergage-at-best scrubs they've got on their team now. And LA's an attractive place for FAs,being the big city with the nice weather and all of that, but I dont think many big itme players wanna come play for a team where they'll be #2, behind Kobe. So like I said, once Shaquille "Fat Boy" O'Neil retires the Lakers are screwed.
