Samake Released
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news/ap/...ers-moves.html
Why did they cut him with all of our injuries?? Was it to clear way for a new big man?? What does Shaq think about this??

What the hell?
He had to have done something. Slava just went on the shelf for 6 weeks and Pargo can't come back for 2 more games. Walker is still hobbled.
I'm not saying it's odd that he was released, just the timing.

Huh?
What's wrong with Slava?
Why can't Pargo come back for 2 more weeks?

I don't like this at all. Shaq liked him, he was becoming a fan favorite and now the Lakers only have 13 guys. It seems like they could have got cash or a 2nd round pick for him. Does his salary count against the salary cap?

Yes it counts, why would it not?
Why won't everyone just release their bad contracts if not?

Well, I was wondering if they had given him a gauranteed contract or not. If his salary for the rest of the season counts against them, why did they cut him?

from what I can remember, his contract is not guaranteed. Neither is Pargo's.

Thank you. If Pargos' contract isn't gauranteed I figure he will also get cut before March, as long as everybody is healthy.

It was obvious the guy was just a temp roster filler. I really don't think that the guy had any NBA talent at all. Can't play defense, no shooting range outside of a dunk, and just horrible, horrible hands and footwork. The Lakers can definitely find someone better. I'd recommend picking up Chenowith on a 10-day from the NBDL.

Chenowith? I would rather see them sign Mikki Moore. BTW I got to meet him last year at a Pistons game. Too bad they bought out his contract.
