foolish

Ostertag was foolish. He's not a superstar, he's not even a star for that matter. So he needs to keep a cool head and not expect to get certain fouls called.

Shaq's got if ruff too. I record a lot of Lakers games. After reviewing tape, he gets fouled almost everytime down the court. I understand why, of course he so big what else can you do, but to complain about fouls when it comes to Shaq in the beginning of the first quarter that's just foolish.

It is pretty simple. There is really no excuse for getting ejected especially when your team needs you but how would Shaq, the Lakers and Laker fans feel if Shaq made a clean block on Malone and got called for a foul? Then on the offensive end Ostertag stripped the ball by starting around the shoulder area and coming down the arms and get no call? It harder for you to understand because those kind of calls going against Shaq are the exception not the rule. For Ostertag they are the rule. It was bad enough that the coach got ejected over them also.
Again that is only two freaking possesions. You can't get that mad over two possesions or else you'll be getting ejected every other game.

Sloan was ejected much later. And it's not like it's the first time either.

Though it is true That is one of the saddest comments about NBA reffing. It really means that in many cases refs not players decide the outcome of the game. The foul call was on a block on Walker who is not exactly a star and shouldn't get a break from the ref either. The foul Shaq committed on Ostertag was a absolute hack job and should be called no matter who the two players are.

I know Shaq gets fouled too but he also fouls someone everytime down court. You can't play Shaq's style of game and expect to not be fouled. He dishes out as much as he recieves.

I agree. The Jazz needed him and there is no excuse for getting ejected. If the game starts that way it is unlikely to get better but you have do the best you can and adjust to the refs.
Sloan said in the post game interviews on the Jazz's radio station that his ejection, even though it was later, was related to the earlier calls. He said the more he thought about those calls the madder he got.

hey JoeF,

you ever heard the saying "no use in crying over spilled milk" that all Ostertag did. Instead he should have got a towel and cleaned it up. seriously, have you ever seen a ref change a call, EVER.

there also another saying Ostertag could have used, "Just shut up & play!"

Your beating a dead horse. Read my posts. I agree there is no excuse for being ejected. In my two other posts I have said

Ostertag was looking for the backdoor, he doesn't like to play against Shaq and was sensing Shaq was gonna give him a bruising, he really wanted no part of the thing last night. He's no fool he saw that the lakers and Shaq have started to regain their championship form and figured with Malone going bad early that this maybe a good time for an exit.

Yes, I have. Earlier this year Michael Jordan got a ref to change a call on TNT.
