Atkins or George
If the Kwame deal goes through, supposedly it's one or the other. Who would you want to see go?
I really dislike Atkins, despite the fact that Sasha would now be our only PG. I really don't care. Play Jones as a guard. Have kobe and odom rotate bringing the ball up the court. Jones is a good defender, and pgs can't rape him any more then atkins aka Mr. i don't play D.

Re: Atkins or George
DEVEAN! We keep our PG and fully unclog the SF rotation.

Re: Atkins or George
I think it's obviously George, who would be a third or fourth stringer, even with the bum SFs the Lakers have coming off the bench.
Atkins isn't any good either, but losing him puts Vujacic in the starting lineup for the moment, and he has already proven that he just isn't ready.

Re: Atkins or George
I like George and think he's better than Jumaine, but Jumaine is a more than capable backup. And after watching Sasha in the triangle in the SPL yesterday its obvious we can't afford to throw away Chucky with nothing left.

Re: Atkins or George
if it's Chucky there is going to be a ton of pressure on Mitch to go out and sign a point guard. If Antonio Daniels wants a 4-year deal we may just have to give it to him. Also, does that make Devean George our 6th man now? He knows the triangle since he came here the same year Phil did.
I really hope it's Devean though. That would just leave Odom, Jumaine Jones, and Luke Walton at small forward.

Re: Atkins or George
Well it seems to be Atkins and I don't blame Washington for having more interest in him since he can score more.
Tha Lakers need to find a way to get rid of George and Slava now, or deal for Cook for a future pick. Roster space isn't exactly easy to find right now except at PG. The Lakers need to sign Daniels or Watson with the MLE now. In the case that we need yet another guard then we'll get Lue for the LLE.
PG- Daniels, Lue, {Vujajic}
SG- Bryant, Jones, {Wafer},
SF- Odom, George, Walton
PF- Brown, Turiaf, Medvedenko, Cook
C- Mihm, Bynum,
I could definitely see Cook being dealt since he or Slava being dealt with the logjam at PF. As for backup C I could see Brown playing there when we go to lighter sets to get him more playing time.

Re: Atkins or George
Someone needs to dribble the ball up the court so Chucky should stay.

Re: Atkins or George
Washington doesn't need anyone to score. They have two 20+ scorers (Arenas and Jamison) and possibly three 15+ scorers (Butler, Haywood, and Hayes).
What they need is a solid backup PG for Arenas. Last season we had to play Arenas 45+ minutes a game just because our backup point guards were lacking. Blake rarely actually used his passing skills and Dixon was never supposed to be a PG. With Atkins, we at least have someone who can pass the ball and will.
