Kobe FG%
kobe usually shoots 45-46%... i have always accepted that as fine, but looking at tonights stats I dont think so anymore... he was 13-29 for 41 pts... thats not bad at all... its actually a very good game... i mean **** 41 pts on 44% aint nuthin to cry over...
but he was 3-13 on three pointers... thats a ****in joke... that means he was 10 for 16 outside of treys... why the **** cant he go to the basket and work off the wing more... at that percentage if he goes inside on all 13 shots it would be 18 for 29.... i know he can take threes here and there and he also gets the ball with 2 or 3 sec on the clock like no one else but he easily could have had 5-10 more points getting closer to the hole...
what im trying to say is Kobe is a 50% FG shooter but his shot selection at times can be so weak that it drops about 5 points, which we tend to accept b/c 45% is acceptable... but he could shoot better...

I couldn't agree more. I hate how he gets into this Reggie Miller mode sometimes and bombs away from downtown. He's an average 3pt shooter at best. Just look at his career numbers from downtown. Average. The thing that really irritates me about Kobe is that he tries to get too many points back when we're down. Instead of driving to the hole and trying to get easy points and the FT line, he fires away from the perimeter and tries to get it back in chunks. I swear to god if this kid actually used his noodle more, he'd be the best player in the league.

trust me, it aint easy taking the ball to the hole al the time..takes a toll on your body. when your the go to guy on your team you need to conserve energy and dont wear youself out too soon. shooting trys helps. it also opens up the lane. take lebron, loves to drive. what do teams do now? crowd the lane and see if he can make the j. watch kobe, he shoots most of his trys in the 3rd, come 4th, he moves to the mid range game and dunks. his is using his 'noodles and that why his the best sg in the L

that makes sense, but i'd rather him take a mid range shot in the offense (which Kobe is money on) than a 29 ft dribble up 3... if we could see the fg percentage for Kobe when he takes shots in the triange i bet its like 60% litteraly... maybe better, its when he tries to go 1 on 1,2, or 3 in behind the three point line when that percentage drops...

Re: Kobe FG%
on kobe's FG%. the guy shoots the ball very efficently and it actually will be about 48 to 50% if his teamates don't pass him the ball when the shot clock is down to 4 sec. kobe takes good 4-5 shots each game when there is only few sec left on the shot clock, because the tringle offence is not set up on time (due to lack of knowledge of this offence and due to some of our player basketball IQ), kobe get the ball, and actually one os 2 players that notices that the time is expireing, and has to shoot a low % shot

Re: Kobe FG%
Right on with that point. Guys like Cook, Sasha, Mihm, Kwame, etc are not the best at creating their own shots so they'll look for Kobe. That's if they know the clock, which Kwame has been caught not knowing the clock a few times.

Re: Kobe FG%
I don't think he shot better than 46% from the field for an entire season in his career.
