Re: Who has the worst supporting cast?

AI and LeBron have good supporting casts, I dont care what anyone says, there is definitely talent on the Sixers and Cavs.

McGrady has a bunch of old bums for a squad, but he also has Yao Ming, an All Star center. They have a 1-2 punch in and out combo in Houston much like we had in LA. They may not have role players like Horry/Fish/Fox, but I still think that team is a 48-52 win team if healthy.

To me it's a tossup between KG and Kobe.

They are both "one man teams" and the next best player on their team are SFs who are borderline All Stars who will probably never be able to reach that next step of being an elite player in Odom and Wally. Both have #1 overall selections in their squads that have not and most likely never will live up to expectations in Kandi and Kwame.

But I think Jaric is a decent PG, Hudson is a little better than Smush, McCants is a decent rookie, Trenton Hassell is a good defender with a nice midrange game, Frahm can light it up some nights and Eddie Griffin is a good defensive presence and sometimes offensive presence off the bench.

The Lakers have Smush who is having a decent year but is yet to be proven, a worthy starting C in Mihm who will have his on and off nights, Cook who is a good offensive spark off the bench, Devean George who gives a nice 6ppg off the bench and brings a little bit of D, and Sasha who is basically nothing more than a spot up 3 point shooter lately.

I think the Minnesota squad is a little better due to more veteran experience and the Lakers having a very young squad. Also, it seems the Minny squad has their roles a little bit more figured out than this Laker squad does. Also, I think the Minny squad is more naturally talented than the Lakers. I give the slight edge to Minny over the Lakers.

I rank the squads you listed as follows:
1. Cleveland
2. Philly
3. Houston
4. Minny
5. LA

Re: Who has the worst supporting cast?

I think we are second to last because remember, part of our December success was when we had some depth. That Profit injury changed our bench lineup so we were not as productive off the bench anymore. Well....the do I think about it we do have the worst supporting cast.

Re: Who has the worst supporting cast?

Well put HOF. Though I don't think the Sixers have the same level of talent the Cavs do, I definitely think they have a better supporting cast than the Lakers. So yeah, it's between KG and Kobe. And I think I might have to give it to KG. At least Kobe has Odom. KG has Wally, a one-way matador.

I think we should put this on the general forum.

Re: Who has the worst supporting cast?

76ers really don't have much talent. Iguodala and Dalembert are good young talents but as far as consistency and all-around play they don't get it done (more true of Dalembert than Iguodala though). And that bench is just terrible. Webber doesn't give you any defense anymore either. they have a decent core i guess but the complete team isn't there at all. I'd rank it like this:

best to worst:
1. James
2. Bryant
3. Iverson
4. McGrady
5. Garnett

Re: Who has the worst supporting cast?

The 76ers also have the upcoming star John Salmons and decent role players in Steven Hunter and Kyle Korver. Give Kobe 2/3 of those players and I guarantee they'd make the Lakers better.

(Best to worst)

1. AI
2. Bron
3. T-Mac
4. KB8
5. KG

Uhh.... No way. Sorry, but I can't agree w/ that.

1. James. 'Bron does have the best supporting cast, and shouldn't even be on this list. He has Big Z, Gooden, and Hughes, 'nuff said.

2. Bryant. Kobe's supporting cast is nowhere near as good as LBJ, AI, or TMAC. If you replaced any of those guys w/ Kobe and he had their supporting cast, all of those teams would be better than they are now, and they would all be better than the Lakers too.

3. Iverson. AI's cast isn't great, but having a 2nd scoring option in Webber and young talents like Dalembert and Iggy is still a decent group of players.

4. TMAC. Are you kidding me? This guys has Yao, that's 'nuf said. Not to mention that he's got good role players like Swift, Howard, DA, Mutombo, Sura, etc. And good youngsters in Head, Alston, etc.

5. Garnett. Now, this supporting cast BLOWS! The only other scorer is Wally ScissorBack (I TradeMarked that name BTW), and then he has Jaric and a bunch of one-dimensional bums. He HAS TO demand a trade or risk wasting the rest of his prime years there.

This is how I would rank them in terms of BEST to WORST supporting cast:

1. LBJ - Z, Gooden, Hughes, etc. That's a no-brainer.

2. TMAC - He has Yao! Give Kobe Yao and it's over! (actually I think he has the better, younger, more aggressive version of Yao in Andrew Bynum waiting in the wings.)

3. AI - These guys ain't great, but he still has Webber (who is really good at calling timeouts ), Dalembert (at least he's a legitimate defensive presence inside), a super-talented youngster in Iggy (who plays serious "D"), a pure shooter in Korver, and some other dudes.

4. KOBE - He has Odom (who has so much of that wonderful "P" word), Mihm (who is a decent starting C, great backup), Kwame (who is actually starting to find something he can do, play "D"), B-Cook (who can shoot with range and might be able to be a poor man's Robert Horry in a couple more years), and then a bunch of young guys (including Bynum, who WILL be dominate in 3 years, just watch), and also SMUSH (which has gotta be one of the best names in the NBA!). They also have some good role players that can contribute w/ Luke, Sasha, D-George, etc.

5. KG - Dude's got nothin' to work with. Plain and Simple. They have the KandiMan (one of the WORST overall #1 selections in NBA history), ScissorBack can light it up, but that's about it. Otherwaise, they are a bunch of soft players (Kandi and Wally are soft too..) who just aren't that good.

There you have it. That's what I'm going with.

Werd.

I think that the Sixers have a better supporting cast thatn LA. Webber can still play a little, dalemberts better than mihm, iggy is talented, and korver can shoot the ball. As far as the Rockets go, I think Tmac + Yao = better than the sixers and lakers other players. But they have been injured so far this year. When healthy I would rank them like this

best to worst
1. Lebron
2. TMac
3. AI
4. Kobe
5. KG
