Nice Farmar article in OCR

http://www.ocregister.com/ocregister...le_1327470.php

I think too much is made of the complexity of the triangle offense. Guys with low bball IQ struggle with it but then again they struggle anyway. Farmar hasn't picked it up as much as he knows how to play period. Kid needs to play. All this wait, has to earn minutes talk is stupid. Had he went back to college and played this season he'd probably be a lottery pick. So we need to get over this whole slow process stuff. He can play, sometimes youg players get it quit and he has. He's gonna make mistakes, he's gonna hit a wall but he's gonna be good as well.

Re: Nice Farmar article in OCR

I think he'll start a couple games this year. But true playing time will have to wait till next year. I just wish Kwame would learn how to play PF, then in the next few years we can unleash our lineup of: Farmar, Kobe, Odom, Kwame, Bynum.....but that'll never happen, Kwame is a terrible PF even though he's a pretty good center. I dont know where that leaves us with Bynum.

Kwame was terrible period last season early when he played, he was a solid pf in Washington at times he's not terrible there. Given a summer to readjust his body he'd be a good pf he'd have to drop 15 lb's or so.

Bynum if he keeps developing will get that Center spot and I think Kwame can go back to the pf spot and do well. He just was playing terrible early in the year when he happened to be playing pf. Part of it was him playing with Mihm who's lack of mobility and unwillingness to bang caused problems for kwame at 4 and part was not knowing the triangle. he played better period late in the season not just because of playing center but because of a comfort level playing the triangle, Kwame would have played well playing either spot late in the season when his confidence was up.

If I had to choose between Kwame and Bynum at center, I would take Bynum...although neither has proven anything yet.

you're so wrong! kwame has proven that he's a bust.. at least for the "#1 draft pick" standards.

Although I feel that starting Bynum is premature. I'd love to have Bynum develope enough that you can use him and Chris Mihm as insenstives to play better.. A string of bad nights, equals in starting bynum when the match is right, can help motivate both Mihm and Brown to play better and keep there heads in the game.

When I think about the amount of money Brown makes, compared to a Bynum.. I think "is he really that much better?" Six million? No. I dont think he is. But he could be if he ever gets his mind together.

Thats what Phils for,

Well that's true. I just hope he can find his game this year. He has a season of experience in the triangle and playing for the best coach in the business. If he doesn't show any improvement this year, he's never going to get much better...IMO.

Re: Nice Farmar article in OCR

does anyone know who showed more promise at the age of 18... andrew or kwame?

kwame is sorta athletic and all, but how did he get all the way to #1?

andrew not a whole lot of high school ball makes me feel that much more hopeful that he's got more upside than we had originally thought... but im just using the word hopeful.

I dont know why Kwame is so trashed on. I thought he played very well at the end of last season. I think he be a 13 8 and 1.5 guy right away if he starts at C.

I agree I can't quite figure it either. He is our best option at center. He's a solid player thats getting better with PJ as coach. I expect good things. I think Bynum is getting better and more comfortable,He's gonna be wildly inconsistent on both ends for awhile, Mihm who knows this ankle thing might linger on he can't really be figured in at this point we should be talking Turiaf if anything.

I think Kwame has turned the corner and is gonna have a good season once he returns.

if you are referring to me, then read the post again. i'm not trashing kwame, but drafted at #1 he's a bust... major disappointment.

Kwame's not a bust but thats a long drawn out discussion I don't want to get into here. He wasn't the number 1 pick for the Lakers so lakers fans need to get over it. He helped us win last season and he will this season. There's just way too much endless conversation about what Kwame doesn't do well but not of the things he adds and does well. PJ took the tact of focusing on the posituves and kwame played very well down the stretch. I think he's turned the corner. The Bust conversation can go on forever. He's not 25 yet so I'm not ready to catergorize his career yet. We'll see.

I really don't view things on a team as either or, kwame or Mihm, Kwame or Bynum if all play well we'll be a better team for it.

And is also not worth 9 million a year.

I like Kawme, if he was being paid something less, Id probably be a bigger fan. Right now he is over paid.
