Play against Hornets was a team no-effort
By Mike Bresnahan, Times Staff Writer
December 8, 2006
Twelve hours after saying his team "fussed around" in a confounding loss to New Orleans, Lakers Coach Phil Jackson was still in a fussy mood.
There was a lot to sift through after Wednesday's 105-89 home loss to the Hornets, with Jackson targeting the Lakers' centers and point guards.

Sore Kobe Aims to Play
10:00 PM PST on Thursday, December 7, 2006
EL SEGUNDO - Some 13 hours after playing, Kobe Bryant reported to practice Thursday morning with a right ankle that was a "little more sore than it was before the game."
But there is not much time for Bryant to rest his sprained ankle, not with so many games on the horizon.
He didn't practice Thursday, but Bryant plans to play tonight against Atlanta at Staples Center.
"We expected it to be score after playing," said Bryant, who had 24 points on 10-for-17 shooting in a loss to the Hornets. "We'll treat it and see how it responds."
After Wednesday's game, Bryant said his ankle was about 50 percent healthy. It's the kind of injury that could linger for a while, and he doesn't know when it'll be back to 100 percent.
"I think we can nip it in the bud," he said.

Lakers notes: Turiaf may draw the start
BY ROSS SILER, Staff Writer
Article Last Updated:12/07/2006 10:59:55 PM PST
EL SEGUNDO - The Lakers have played 11 of their last 12 games at Staples Center, spending all of one night away from Los Angeles since Nov. 9, and the comforts of home might be starting to have a negative effect on their play.
The morning after an uninspiring loss to New Orleans, Lakers coach Phil Jackson spared no criticism of his team, calling the play of Kwame Brown and Andrew Bynum "horrendous" and saying Lamar Odom was "completely out of focus."
"I think there's an assumption that you're going to win because you're at home and that you've done it before," Jackson said.
