Re: Artest?

I used to love Artest. His attitude is garbage though and we don't need that on the Lakers. We have nothing to give them either. Either LO or Bynum would have to be involved and there is no way I'd give either of them for Artest.

Only if Artest demands a trade... but then the Kings would be more incline to trade him to an Eastern conference team... like the Knicks.
Quoted for truth. I stated last season that the initial reaction would be that the Kings would get a steal. Like TO, a guy like Artest always implodes. We should continue to steer clear of Ron. We won't have to worry about that since he's headed eastward IF anywhere at all.

Re: Artest?

I to have faith in Phil keeping Ron under control. However I don't want to give up an important piece for him, which likely means no deal.

I would trade Kwame for him though.

Re: Artest?

good thing mitch wont trade kwame for artest though. kwame for artest means we have about 4-5 plays at the small forward position competing for time. it would be the dumbest trade ever, since we'd be short on centers and we also signed vlad in the past summer (along with acquiring mo evans).

Bad logic. Kwame is medicore, Artest is good.

I guess you wouldn't trade Kwame for LeBron either, seeing as how we would be short on centers.

Start Bynum, back him up with Turiaf. Cut McKie and sign a cheap scrub big man. Odom and Artest are your forwards with Walton, Vladi and Cook backing them up.

Re: Artest?

I like the idea. artest on the lakers sounds good. any attitude problems I foresee being gone once phil and kobe help him to control himself. also sacramento isn't doing so well right now which may be frustrating him, with artest on the lakers they'd be tearing up the league so that wouldn't be a problem. defensively they'd be a top3 team easily.

start bynum? now that's bad logic.

kwame is decent, artest is slightly better than decent. he's not good enough to warrant such a trade. lebron is.

I agree

Artest is 'Team killer.' His never happy or gets along with his team mates.

I wouldn't take Artest for free

Re: Artest?

I think Phil could control Ron. Bad shot selection is his only on-court problem. His attitude creates some drama off court. But in LA we need a little bit of drama just to keep us interested. Hell, Kobe and Shaq won 3 straight and we thought they were going to throw down at some point. Phil kept them playing together.

I just wouldnt give anything up for him. Expiring contracts and garbage.

I also think Ron is one of those players who gets angry when he doesnt win. Look at Sacto this year, they suck, but everything was fine last year when they looked good.
