Cakeboy expected to suit up against Golden State.
Quote:
DALLAS — The Lakers get back some of their injured players next week, leading to one of those quandaries that can actually be labeled acceptable.
Who starts at center?
Kwame Brown is expected to return from a severely sprained ankle as early as Monday against Golden State, which could mean Andrew Bynum goes back to the bench.
It's not a bad problem to have, but you can't start them both.
One of the involved parties has an idea what will happen.
"Phil will probably put Kwame in," Bynum said in reference to Lakers Coach Phil Jackson.

Re: Cakeboy expected to suit up against Golden State.
eh, even our rebounding too.
this is great, we have weathered the storm quite well. i think we'll have all our guys back before we see san antonio. it's a perfect stretch, since we aren't playing that many games next week. 3 games in the next 10 days or so i th ink.. that's awesome.

I'm glad he's coming back...we need his interior defense and rebounding big time. We did well without him, but now we need to do better with him.

I just hope, for the Warriors' sake, that it's none of their player's birthdays. Kwame might get crazy.

Re: Cakeboy expected to suit up against Golden State.
He won't be that important because warriors don't have a great interior scorer which negates Kwame's largest source of usefullness.
What's more important will be our perimeter defenders.

Not as excitied as some of you. I think his impact is minimal and I like what Cook and Vladi have been bringing.

his contributions don't show up in the numbers. looking at his statline, it's not impressive but he's a big strong body who can do things defensively that neither turiaf nor bynum can do.

You know that I am not a huge fan of Kwame's game. If anything, I like the fact that he can use his body to box out defenders and limit these barrages of offensive rebounds the team continues to give up. Despite his mental miscues, Kwame boxes out and plays team defense better than Bynum, Cook, and especially Vlad. I can't say that about Turiaf, who should be getting more minutes IMO.. Kwame's horrible offense and ineptitude at times will have me cursing loudly as usual. But make no mistake about it, he is needed to fill a few of our biggest weaknesses.

Re: Cakeboy expected to suit up against Golden State.
okay so he didn't play tonight.. if he was expected to play tonight, it looks like there's a very good chance he'll definitely be back on friday. good stuff, we'll be back at full strength again soon.
i've gotten so used to not having lamar around, now it's just going to feel weird.
