Whats this about Mihm returning later this season. That what he's saying. That would be a very odd circumstance.
I'm banking kwame will be back by the end of this trip.

that was because of Odom, Butler, and Grant. The Lakers were one of the top teams in rebounds this season until both Kwame and Odom left. Now the Lakers have dropped so far in rebounds and defense statisticaly that they will never look good on paper.

Thats true... Tha year Grant played with the lakers he did pull off an average of 3.7 rebounds per game........ It must have been Bulters 5.9 that carried this team into that elite rebounding......
I think when your a fan and you consider Kwame's rebounding as impactful at (6.6rpg, only slightly better than much smaller forward Butler the year he was in LA) ... I guess any rebounding at all looks good.

Re: Wheres Kwame??
Just because Kwames numbers arent huge doesnt mean that he doesnt contribute a ****load to our rebounding totals. Kwame's job is to box out the biggest guy on the court thus allowing Lamar and others to gather the rebound.

Lamars rebounding hasnt exactly suffered since Kwame went out? I know its only a couple of games but if you want to look at all the games Bynum started or played significant minutes, Lamars rebounding seemed untouched for the most part. I dont get the logic in this. I can tell you for sure he averages that amount of rebounds. I can prove it with the fact that its a statistic... But the Kwame fan club comes in and tells me its all the little things Brown does? I thought a minute ago this thread was about how great of a REBOUNDING duo he and Lamar are.. Now its about the little things he does to help Lamar rebound better (who never had problems rebounding in the first place?).
Come on... I'm sorry but thats almost as lame as the TheOnes comment on Grant and Bulters rebounding.. What did they just open up the court for other players to get more rebounds to?

Well i didnt necessarily mean just Lamar benefits from Kwame. (Lamar is an excellent rebounder in his own right) but im talking about other guys that are not necessarily known to be great rebounders by themselves i.e. Luke, Evans, even Smush to a lesser degree. Having a big body in middle muscling the other teams bigs makes it easier. Bynum has been pulling down around the same rebounds if not more than Brown in his absence yet we're still getting killed on the boards even when Lamar returned. IMO its because Kwame's muscling of the other teams centers takes them out of their game which in turn causes us to have an easier time rebounding as a team.

Re: Wheres Kwame??
The Spurs game is ca classic example of why we need kwame. Bynum never boxes out and despite having 6-10, 6-10 and 7-0 feet on our frontline we got murdered on te boards because Bynum doesn't bend his knee's and spread his body and find a body to put on someone so all the other players can fly in and rebound. kwame gives up alot of boards pulling his hands back to Kobe and Lamar for rebounds.
And defensively please Duncan has owned Bynum but struggles against kwame.Kwame is quick enough to cut off Duncan's drives and strong enough to keep him from deep postioning. The team had to help way too much on Duncan with Bynum on him because Bynum is scared of Duncan's 1st step. In the game earlier this season at staples with kwame guarding him Duncan was contained he had what 14 points or so. He has blown up Bynum twice. Plus Kwame makes a big difference with his physicality on defense. He takes charges when the last time Bynum clogged the lane and took a charge. kwame also blocks shots not qite as well as Bynum weakside but he gets some as well. He's a far more physical player and its why PJ trusts kwame plus Kwame rotates quicker and better defensively.

Werd.
Good observation, Kwame's numbers does not justify the amount the Lakers pays him, I mean the dude cant catch a freaking ball, but his defensive presence does wonders for this team from time to time,
